My SD0502 ice machine is dropping only once an hour
My maker is not harvesting every 20 mins. like it was.I tried to run the clean cycle but water will not come on so i can't run any solution through it. It drops ice every hour and 15 mins.
i replaced the water level probe and adjusted the ice thickness but it still takes an hour to drop ice but thanks for the help anyway.i replaced the water level probe and adjusted the ice thickness but it still takes an hour to drop ice but thanks for the help anyway.

What are your pressures running during harvest and freeze. You could also have a bad hot gas valve causing hot gas to leak back to evaporator. What are your pressures running during harvest and freeze. You could also have a bad hot gas valve causing hot gas to leak back to evaporator.

If your Ice-O-Matic ice machine is only dropping ice intermittently or inconsistently, there are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the water supply: Ensure that the water supply to the ice machine is sufficient and that the water inlet valve is fully open. Inspect the water line for any kinks or blockages that could restrict water flow.
Clean the condenser: A dirty condenser can affect the ice machine's performance. Clean the condenser coils using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or debris that may have accumulated.
Check the water filter: If your ice machine is equipped with a water filter, check if it needs to be replaced or cleaned. A clogged or dirty water filter can hinder water flow and impact ice production.
Inspect the harvest cycle: The ice machine's harvest cycle may be experiencing issues. Ensure that the harvest switch is functioning properly and that the control board is working correctly. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for instructions on troubleshooting the harvest cycle.
Verify the ice thickness control: If the ice thickness control is not properly set, it may prevent ice from dropping consistently. Adjust the ice thickness control according to the manufacturer's instructions to ensure the correct ice thickness for dropping.
Check for sensor issues: Ice machines often have sensors that monitor ice levels, temperature, or other parameters. Make sure these sensors are clean and functioning correctly. If a sensor is malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced.
That sounds like a logic board issue. Ice makers normally purge after a certain number of drops, or once in every 24 hours. Try cutting the power for an hour, or even overnight.
Their website has service manuals and there is also a Contact phone number for Support.

Service Manual for EC-400 which says it is supposed purge mineral laden water at each ice harvest. Section D-1.
Have a look at the side of the evaporator; there is a probe (thermistor) attached to it that tells the control board when to initiate the harvest cycle. make sure it's clean and attached properly and doesn't need replacing. If hitting the float switch initiates the harvest cycle it sounds like you have a blocked/ scaled water tube or switch housing. take off the bottom of the switch assembly (black rubber bit) and clean through to the water chamber. run a cycle of descaler before trying again.
Are the cubes normal - the right size, not hollow? Once frozen and the harvest cycle begins, does it take longer than a couple minutes for the cubes to drop? After the ice drops does it fill with water each time?
If everything checks OK the last thing is very important. The rate at which an ice maker produces cubes depends on the temperature of the freezer - the colder it is the quicker the cycle. Try nudging the controls up a bit and wait 24 hours.
First check to make sure condenser fan is running during freeze cycle. Now check to make sure condenser coil is clean. Her is all the specks on the machine.
1. Ice production ( 500 at 70/50
2. BTUs per hour ( 7000)
3. Maximum times in Minutes. ( 50 freeze, 14 harvest.
4. Refrigerant charge ( R-404A ) ( A-D series: AC 32oz, WC 20 oz. E series AC 23 oz, WC 14 oz, F series AC 23 oz, WC 13 oz
5. Suction pressure ( PSIG ) 35-37 - end of freeze, 120-125-Peak in harvest.
6. Discharge pressure ( PSIG ) 240-260- 5 min in freeze.
165-175- minimum in harvest.
7. Metering device.( TXV plus distributor, E series and higher have two TXVs. superheat 3 to 15 deg F.
8. Average comp.amps. 10-11 during freeze, 11-12 during harvest.
9. Batch Weight. 6.5-7 lb
10. cycle time, 23 minutes @ 90/70. 19 minutes @ 70/50
If it is going into harvest but the ice is to thick causing it to stick and not letting it drop then you need to adjust the ice thickness sensor it dose not need to be no more distance than 1/8 of an inch between face of sensor and evaporator plate you can use a 1/8 drill bit flat between sensor face and ice plate use a 1/4 nut driver to adjust the sensor.
No where can I find anyone who has solved Uline Echelon ice maker harvesting issues. My Clr 2060 only now produces 1" solid slabs. In harvesting cycle, will not release individual cubes. Anyone fix this problem?

Good day,
Light usage in a cool kitchen will reduce ice production substantially.
When the ice maker harvests, it turns on a calrod unit located on it's bottom, that frees the cubes, and as well the heat from the calrod heats up an internal thermostat in the ice maker to a temperature in excess of 70 degrees.
Then it stays at rest, until the cycle thermostat reaches 12 to 14 degress and then performs another harvest cycle.
If the machine runs little, and the fan in the freezer is not circulating cold air, the harvest times will be extended.
Turning the freezer colder will always help.
There is a possibility, the thermostat in the ice maker is out of calibration, and the ice maker needs replaced. But try the settings first, and give it a week or two, before calling for service.
You have a lot iof time under warranty to resolve this issue.
i replaced the water level probe and adjusted the ice thickness but it still takes an hour to drop ice but thanks for the help anyway.
