Davcr- try using a hairdryer on the pipe. and next time put an anti-seize oil on the pipes where they go together. ;)

The cardboard is 28" wide and 21.5" high . Mark 8 1/8" up from bottom and 11 1/2" from the right side. This is the pivot point of the 2 holes on the card board template. from this pivot point you measure out 4 1/2 " anywhere from 12 o'clock to 3 o' clock position is where the center of your hole will start. MIne is in for 6 years and the pipes are really stuck together. I left it in for fear of hurting the vent pipe. that is the pipe in a pipe through the wall, may leak if the elbow from the heater is forced out. They say using liqued wrench helps if you give it 1/2 hour I decided to let it in. dave

My heatilator fireplace seems to have a closed flue but I cannot find one?

First of all, immediately install carbon monoxide detectors in all living areas of your home. You stated you smell gas? Call a plumber! He or she will verify if it's raw gas or not. What you probably meant to state is you smell the flue gas/combustibles. You'll need to have your flue piping connections/outlet checked.

I have a laser 73 in a garage w/ concrete walls w/ no insulation on the walls in Willow, Alaska. This is a cabin for us so we keep this on 50 degrees most of the time. This unit is oversized for the space...

Make sure that the flue pipe is angled down outside. I can't remember the angle they recommend, but I think it should slope down about 1/2" for 12" of horizontal run. Also the Laser's are very efficient resulting in some of the flue gas condensing. This will leave some build up behind that reminds me of the stuff you find on a car battery terminal. Let me know if this helps so I can give you more suggestions if necessary.

WE CAN SMELL KEROSENE PRETTY STRONGLY WHEN THE WIND BLOWS

Take a look at the back of your unit to make sure it is connected completely to the flue pipe. After that look at the igniter guide gasket, it may have separated. It is like a donut with a cut in it. Smash it back together and you are on your way. While you are in there you could look at the heat exchanger to make sure it has no cracks.

The red lick is blinking 3 times. The blower fan

These are two unrelated problems. The flash code you are getting is an induced draft problem. The pressure switch is not proving airflow. Make sure that the inducer motor (the motor in the middle of the top door) is running when calling for heat. If so, make sure that the flue in not obstructed. Bird nests, rodents, ice, and snow can plug the flue to the point that not enough air is being moved to allow for ignition.

As for the "ice around the pipes" can be a couple of issues. Check to make sure that your filter has been replaced. If the indoor blower cannot move enough air, the coil will freeze. If that is not dirty, then you most likely have a refrigerant leak and need to have it recharged.

Does not extinguish

If your fuel was yellow it was #2 home heating oil. Toyotomi Laser heater run well on #1. Since yours in giving you a EE10 message you are going to have to open the burner and clean it, the blower and the heat exchanger. The air holes are blocked on the burner and it takes too long to burn the fuel up, EE10.
This is a dirty job but not that difficult. Try toyotomiusa.com/ and use their dealer locator. You should find a dealer in South Dakota that will be able to get you some gaskets you might need.

Good luck,
