Hey, my keypad has worked perfectly fine until I jailbroke it, and now when I go to make a call, you can't push any numbers then it takes you back to the homescreen.

I ended up fixing the problem by downloading custom firmware and restoring it to my phone. All works perfectly again now!
My keypad wasn't working. So I went to Cydia and downloaded other keypad... problem solved!! (for me...you can try it, it will no cost you anything)
U guys have to download rip dev. Kate from installer. or purchase it to call, its an app add on for phone calling

Hi there I too had a same problem but any how by struggling on the browser I managed myself to do so. After you jailbreak the iphone you have to install the rip dev from cydia and then go in the settings of your iphone and here you will see ripdev module located. then expand the application by touching the screen. Here you will see multiples tools from ripdev. Touch the ripdev product key expand it further and then you will see the word called licenses under that you will see kate expand the app by touch it and then you have to purchase Authorization code or simply for a trail ask for trial license . With this your problem will be 100% solved. I have made my self as easy as possible. Hope this will help you out.

I have the same problem now I've just upgraded my 1st gen iPhone to 2.1 firmware. I can't receive calls, can call contacts but just get the home screen when I should be seeing the keypad or phone options... help!

When I bring up the "phone" option from my taskbar it brings up the numbers for just a couple seconds, but won't let me punch any numbers nor will it show my missed calls or let me access anything from that screen. Then after a few seconds it goes back to my home screen. I just recently got a prompt to restore my phone. I did that and had to re-jailbreak my phone. All seemed to work fine until I installed the "winterbreak" application from the Installer. I don't know how to fix the problem!! HELP!!! Please!!!

Same here 2.2.1. I had Buuf 2 theme installed so bottom menus in the phone application has labels and these for some reason in German.
I got kate installer and it still wont work. My key pad comes up then doesnt allow me to press any keys then goes straight back to the home screen... please help??
i have jailbreak my iphone 3g. I cant place calls as when i open the phone module it does so but when i try to touch any of the keys it pushes me back to the homescreen . I also tryied to reinstall Rip dev app which i had installed before on my iphone but still the same problem persists. please help me out on this as now i cant place any calls and also i am very much worried about it.Its worthwhile buying such a expensive iphone.
