I have a Big screen Phillips HDtv & we had turned it off after watching it & a couple hours later went to turn it back on & Nothing! It wont turn on with the remote or manually. I checked the power cord & it is plugged in. Any suggestions?? Not a good time for the TV to go out with all the kids on Spring Break this week!

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.

If this is similar to the d52w20 then I almost garantee you need to replace a capacitor. You can check to make sure that's what you need by unplugging the tv, taking off the back cover and feeling the top of 3 capacitors. On my d52w20, CP150 (rated at 2200uf 16V) was blown and the top was bulged out. You should also check CP120 and CP114 to see if either are blown. I don't have a clear picture of where it's located, but I have a picture of what you should see after you take off the back cover.

In the middle of the picture you see an aluminum heatsink in the shape of a 'C' with the opening facing away from you. That is where CP150 is located. CP120 and CP114 should be located nearby, but if you can feel a bulge on any of the tops of those 3 capacitors replacing them should fix your problem. Replace the existing capacitors with a higher voltage rating of either 25v or 35v.
"4 capacitors on the power/deflection board. CP110 220uf 200v. CP120 220uf 35 Volts. CP114 220uf 35 volts. CP150 2200 16 volt. also check entire delfection board for cold solder especially around flyback. bad connections here can cause problems like some of the fp fuses blowing and cutting off convergence supply"

When I push the power button manually NO Light comes on & NO Noise from TV. The Uverse box does come on but not the TV so I know it's Not the power strip that the tv is plugged into because other things are working.
model # is 60PW9363 ...I have PP written under the PW in my book so ???
