When i charge the camera, it has a 2 pin plug symbol on and when its charged it used to have a battery symbol on once you removed the charger from the camera, now it has the 2 pin symbol on continually even when the charger is removed and even if it is charged overnight, it loses the charge within a couple of hours and wont even turn on
If the recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and graduallythe charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The batteryshows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops offto zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptablecharge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Make sure the battery is in the camara correctly. I had the problem with the blue screen and MSDC showing and it would not hold a charge. the battery has to be in correctly. It will go in wrong and look right so match up the silver three marks on the battery to the three marks inside the camara where the battery goes. It worked after i did that. Hope this helps!!!

Hi, i only replaced the battery about 4 months ago so was wondering if it is just a bad luck thing and i got a dud so to speak? seems odd as the original battery that came with the camera lasted over 3 years or more..any ideas or do i just get a new one and is there anywhere you recommend getting it from and what make? i got the last one from an online company that did all types of camera stuff and nik naks etc so assumed they would be decent. thanks for advice thou
Hello, I have the same camera as you and have been hunting high and low for a new wall charger/mains charger for it. dont suppose why looking for a new battery you saw where I could get a new charger? Or perhaps you live in the uk and have given up on this camera and wish to sell your charger?
