When i charge the camera, it has a 2 pin plug symbol on and when its charged it used to have a battery symbol on once you removed the charger from the camera, now it has the 2 pin symbol on continually even when the charger is removed and even if it is charged overnight, it loses the charge within a couple of hours and wont even turn on

Hello, I have the same camera as you and have been hunting high and low for a new wall charger/mains charger for it. dont suppose why looking for a new battery you saw where I could get a new charger? Or perhaps you live in the uk and have given up on this camera and wish to sell your charger?

If the recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and graduallythe charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The batteryshows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops offto zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptablecharge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: my vivitar vivicam 8025 has

Make sure the battery is in the camara correctly. I had the problem with the blue screen and MSDC showing and it would not hold a charge. the battery has to be in correctly. It will go in wrong and look right so match up the silver three marks on the battery to the three marks inside the camara where the battery goes. It worked after i did that. Hope this helps!!!

My vivitar camera 5118 wont charge

It's because the 5118 is a camera, not a battery charger. It uses disposable alkalines or rechargeable NiMHs, but if you choose to use rechargeables then you much charge them outside the camera using a separate battery charger.

What does msdc mean?

MSDC is not limited to just the Vivitar V-8225p Digital Camera. MSDC stands for Mass Storage Device Class. It allows the camera to communicate with the computer, and this error usually shows up when you're plugging it in your computer, which roughly just means that the computer cannot communicate with the camera.

The best solution I would have for you is to buy an external SD card reader, which would remove this problem entirely.

Hi I have the vivitar vivicam 8025 dont have my manual want to know how to charge my battery

First off, you can download a PDF version of the manual from the manufacturer at: http://www.vivitar.com/files_products/13/VC8025%20User%20Manual.pdf
If you don't have a PDF viewer, you can download one from: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ (just click download under the free version)
For your convenience I've pasted the relevant information about charging the batteries from the above manual:
Please charge the battery as below 2 methods: A. Charge with USB cable Insert the lithium battery into your camera correctly, and connect your camera to computer with USB cable. The red LED of camera will be light on indicating that your camera is in charging status, the LED willbe off when charge full.
B. Charge with supplied charger Your camera is supplied a compatible charger for you, you are only required to put the battery into charger and charge the lithium battery directly from electrical outlet

Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

I have just bourght a vivitar vivicam 8025 digital camera it cam with 2 plugs i put the battery in and memery card and it works i know one end is the usb i know it either plugs in the computor but the...

The USB socket is toward the bottom on the left end of the camera (as you view it from the rear). Take a look at the illustrations on page 5 of the manual.

You can charge the battery either outside the camera using the supplied charger or inside the camera by connecting the camera via USB to a powered port. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries.

BATTERY DOES NOT CHARGE Received a "Vivitar T328" camera yesterday. Inserted the supplied battery and a new memory card into the camera and connected the camera via "USB" cable to the supplied charger....

How old is the battery? If the battery is refurbished or old it might just not charge anymore.

Also, do you have a separate charger for the battery? Many cameras do and that is how they charge, not when the battery is still in the camera.

Battery wont charge

This camera not charged via PC, you can charge the battery only with wall charger(comes with box). When camera is plugged to PC, you can´t use it as a camera, only as a memory card. You can watch your stuff in PC( PC recognise a camera as a flash memory, no more).

So, this is normal..Charge your camera with wall charger(Full charge Red light not flash!, if light flashed camera is charging) Unplug and use as usually!

Vivitar DVR 545 - Is this going to work with my MacBook?

I have a VIvitar DVR 545 I can not find out how to recharge the rechargable battery

I just bought this camera and had the same problem.

How DO you charge the battery???!!!

Here goes:
Open the box the camera came in and you should find a little rectangualr black box and a 3-pin plug.
Ignore the other stuff unless you think you may need it (depends what country you're in and what your mains supply wall socket fittings are). Take a close look at the little rectangualr black box and you'll see a slot in it. That's where your battery goes! Remember the battery must be taken out of the camera and slotted into this box! Make sure you align the battery correctly to the litle pins inside the box.
The Vivitar DVR 545 uses a sort of mobile phone/cell phone battery. You must take the battery OUT of the camera. Now you have slotted the battery into the box you connect the 3-pin plug to the box and then insert the plug (attached to the box) into your wall mains supply socket. The box will light up and you'll see a red light. Once this light turns green your camera battery is charged!

RE-INSERT THE BATTERY INTO THE CAMERA.

The whole charging procedure for the DVR 545 is ridiculous but there it is! By the way one drawback about having to remove the battery from the camera to charge it is that you will lose all or most of your camera settings. remember to reset video and photo settings - resolution, flash etc., etc.

Also a word of caution:
The Vivitar DVR 550 is unusual in that the battery is charged using the USB port. If you also happen to have a DVR 550 do NOT attempt to charge the Vivitar 545 using the Vivitar DVR 550 USB charger cable!

You will destroy your DVR 545 in seconds!!!!
