Stays on for 20 sec goes off 20 sec repeditly
When it goes on does it come on with a very dim screen and then shut off?
When its off what lights on front (led) are blinking?

Was the bulb a name brand unit or a knock off? Some lamps on the market today are very poor quality and could fail in 8 months. Remove the lamp and look at it. If it is smokey on the reflective surfaces this is your problem.

You miss the point: "won't stay on" if set shuts off or loses picture one of the led or lights on front will blink------it should also have the error buffer which with set off and using sony remote is : display, 5, vol down, power
