PT-51G36E Convergence Problems

Ur tv have any colors lines R,G,B mis alignment,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures.Ur tv convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.The parts,must be replaced on the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

It still convergence chip problem, check big resistors nearby these chips that would be open or devalued and causing problem, specially in green convergence area, your green tube/ gun is just fine and just not getting convergence output signal to show correct image.
I would suggest to download service manual copy of this tv for small fee from any website and fix the issue with schematics help.

You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms. 
Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. 
Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. 

Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself. 

I just replaced the 2 convergance chips, but it did not seem to fix the problem. I then tested all the resistors that feed the convergence chips anf there was a 2.2 ohm fusable blown. IT was R7050 on mine. That seemed to fix it so that I could adjust all the colors through the convergence 2 screen. There seems to be a slight bow near the bottom when you look at the c2 screen, but not noticable when you are watching a picture. Since I got this broken, I am not sure how perfect it should be.

If Convergence on setup dosen't work, And you think its not STK Convergence chips!, Then "Yes" It more then likely will have a few open Resistors!... (Near STK chips)

You need sevice code to enter convergence.

This is most likely either bad connections on the convergence IC or a defective IC. Try resoldering the pins first. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the IC.

Convergence ICs or the resistors powering them are bad. Check for open resistors near the ICs if any are open, change both ICs and the resistors.
