I believe that your installation is faulty. Check for any shorts, solder bridges, and that instructions were followed correctly.

yes , but for the amount you get its hardly going to be worth it.this radio has all kinds of limiters in and it won't let you do one thing without doing this other thing first.A small 100 watt kicker will do a better job and nothing to do to the radio except turn the wattage down so its linier friendly.

Check the polarity of your caps (not ceramic of course they are not polarized) and the compansion parts or diode if you built your own. The diode banded end should be toward front of radio.
Check that you have not bumped that pa switch it has happened to me numerous times.
Just a side note after go back thru your work and it starts swing again if it is a china made you may need to remove a turn off of L14 to get max swing. Dont leave the plug out it creates harmonics!!

replace the audio chip

The MOSFET mod is not a good mod as it is so touchy. Your best bet is to undo the mod and go back to where you were. If not feasible then I suggest a different radio technician for proper install. I refuse to do this as they are tricky. Yes I know the good old time finals are hard to find.
