Can i use a sony 1-474-012-11 lamp ballast in a sony kds r60xbr2

My lamp ballast is bad and i have this one out of other tv

You will need to enter the service menu to do this. However if you were to push the wrong button on the remote you could really mess up the tv. So I suggest you call Sony and see if you can get an ASC to do it for you for a minor charge. There are literally hundreds of electrical adjustments in this service menu. I would adcise an asc do this for you.

There are three fans the one that usually fails is located on top of the optical block and cannot be reached by the owner unless you take the set apart yourself. What is happening is that one of the fans are not spinning fast enough or has stopped altogether. The best solution is to replace all three fans cleaning may not be enough to get a slow fan up to speed, and the tech should blow out the dust in the duct work. This is what the tech coming out will (or should) be doing. Also some fans will have an intermittent startup, and cause this intermittently, so it is a good idea just to replace the fans instead of just cleaning them.

From my past experience, yes. Not sure about the 11v being low. My kdf 45 acted that way when the main lamp went out. Found a replacement on Amazon for around $45 and now good to go! So far about a year and a half. Have had to replace about 4 for friends and family so far with same symptoms. A 3 blink error on this model is saying that your lamp cover is not on properly. Check your lamp cover and door. Make sure they are seated sucurly. If this doesn't fix your problem. Then the switch or little board buy the lamp cover is bad and needs replaced. This is called the T board.

Hi,
It is light engine problem in your Sony KDS-R60XBR2 lcd rear projection tv.
This tv does not have any color wheel because of its light engine technology.
Lamp is just light source that provides bright white light to light engine and its working properly.
Light engine will be replaced to fix green screen problem.

Hello.
Ballast in Sony is one of the most reliable parts, almost never goes bad.
I assume you have TV unplugged from the wall outlet to reset error memory (not to mention that you have to do it anyway during ballast replacement).
I hope you are using good quality lamp, because cheap substitute from E-Bay can cause same problem. Lamp and ballast works as duo and on-board diagnostic system is unable to separate them unless lamp is completely blown (in that case you will have steady "Lamp" LED blinking).
You need to set TV up with back cover removed but lamp door attached (there is switch that prevent TV from working if lamp door is removed). You need to locate large 2-wire connector on ballast and make sure that it's getting about 330V DC from power supply board when you turning your TV on. If it's not there - you have power supply board problem. There should be fuse on it (not on the ballast board but power supply board - just trace those two thick wires where they coming from). That fuse could be blown by previous bad ballast shortage.
Small connector on ballast have 5 pins. Some of them ground, one of them steady 5V and another trigger (turn on signal) 5V. Make sure all voltages are there. If there is no trigger 5V - you have problem with main board.
In my experience 90% cases - it is very bad quality new lamp or something is just not connected (forgot to put plug all the way or something).

Sony TVs has an Optical Block issue. If there is an issue with the optical block, then there will be green, blue patches or tint on the TV display. Try resetting the TV to the factory settings and try Power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue still persists, then TV may require service. You can contact the Customer relations team and check for the available options. Sony had repaired free of cost for such issues. Hence, contact the customer relations.

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

I have a sony SXRD KDS-R60XBR@ tv. It wont turn on. When I hit the power , the power lite flash's green as it fres, just as the lamp lites there is an internal click, the fan goes off, the lamp shuts off...
it's the fan's they either need cleaning or to be replaced.
