When was the lamp this model uses for brightness last replaced? These as a rule have a 2,000 hour or 2 year average lifespan and many just before they fail will go darker, picture will come up slower and be a bit dim.

If tv is Sony KDS-R60XBR1 as shown in question headings then it is problem of optic block (light engine) that needs to be replaced, it is hardware problem that wont get solved by resetting. Optic block is expensive part and qualified tv tech is required to replace it.
If tv model number is different, please post it to provide you info about problem.

Are you sure the lamp is pushed in far enough and did you make sure you screwed cover back on tightly?

fist of all try to reset ur tv. to reset do the following.
Turn on the TV. While holding down the up arrow button on the remote control, press the POWER (on off switch) button on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back on again.)
Release the up arrow button.

Its time to replace lamp in tv.
DLP lamp has limited life span like 3000 working hours and after that it need to be replaced to get bright picture in tv.
Lamp replacement is easy and procedure would be written in user manual.

If lamp light on Sony TV front start flashing that means Lamp is dead and need to be replaced.

In most cases, replacing your projection lamp is quick and easy. However, it is recommended that you consult your owner's manual for more detailed instructions:

Unplug your TV from your power outlet

Allow the lamp to cool for at least one (1) hour before replacing it

Remove the Lamp unit cover (Usually located at the rear of the television)

Unscrew the lamp housing unit

Remove the old lamp housing unit and discard

Screw in the new lamp housing unit

Place the cover back onto your TV unit Caution: Do NOT touch the bulb directly with your fingers.

on my xbr tv there is a little *** that sticks out on the lamp cover. the wrapped and it wont work light flashed 3 time with a new cover it worked fine. there was a t. s. b. for an over heat problem new fan and sensor and door. go to sony.com its there
