I have a new hdtv antenna and my hdtv gets all the local channels except 8. The direction from my house is 171 and that is also channel 4. I get 4 fine but not 8. what's up?

repositioning the antenna did not help, it actually hurt. all other stations come in clear as a bell. The antenna can not get any higher without the antenna falling over.

Hello,
There would be weak signal reception at your antenna so it can't get the other channel. So change the antenna direction. If there's no result then increase your antennas hieght means keep your antenna at higher position.

Regards,
Laxman

What do i need to get regular channels on the tv

How to get regular TV channels?
Your HDTV should have a digital TV Tuner (ATSC) which may need an indoor antenna. Change your TV's input selector to TV or Antenna or Digital (probably one of those three) and scan for channels. If you don't get any channels, then you do need an antenna. Probably another $10.

How do I get Channel 7 & Channel 8 back on my tv

Good Question but that depends on what is connected to the tv. Is there an antenna and if so are they local stations. Normally adjacent tv channel numbers are not in the same community If there is an exception they would separated by many miles. Is it the input from a cable box, if so contact the cable company assuming other channels are working. There are many possibilities, if you can go back to what it was before you lost the channels.

Programming channels for TV viewing?

You can often find the digital channel numbers for your local stations in a guide like http://www.titantv.com/ or https://tvschedule.zap2it.com/?aid=gapzap . Alternately, check if the local stations websites offer a link to their schedule. This will usually list the channel/channel digital identity. Another source for the digital channel numbers are the antenna choice/position/direction guides. Look at http://www.antennaweb.org or http://www.tvfool.com . Tvfool.com gives the direction and signal strength for all channel transmitters in your general area. Antennaweb.org is much more conservative and will only give the strongest stations in your area. That conservative list assumes an external antenna and clear path between the transmitter and your antenna.

In my area, the analog channel 7 became digital channel 7-1 . However, the channels 12 and 16 now transmit at 43-1 and 46-1 . However, after letting the TV do the auto-search, they are 12-1 and 16-1 when I type in the channel numbers on my remote.

I hope this helps. I might be able to provide a list of your local digital channels if you add a comment with your general location.

I HAVE A DIGITAL ANTENNA AND I WHEN I DO A CHANNEL SCAN IT'S NOT PICKING UP ALL THE CHANNELS HOW DO I GET ALL THE CHANNELS

It has to do with the distance and direction of the different TV station antennas. You have to have a strong enough antenna, and you have to aim it at the TV station's transmitter.

I'm able to view all local channel in digital (new tv with in philip hdtv indoor antena) but after conver to diggital I lost channel 7 and 9 I scan many time but sitll no lick

What local area are you in? 7 & 9 may have moved to another channel. Every distributor of channels ie. Comcast, Directtv, Dish, Bright House, etc has channels all over the map!! with no real clear plan it seems! If you go to DTV answers.com you can get the new local lineup for your area. At this point, if you still don't have the signal, you may need to re-align your antenna for the best possible reception. If you go to Terk.com you can type in your zipcode and it will show you where the transmitting antennas are located. You may need a better antenna like a Wineguard or larger Terk to get all your channels. Hope this helps

I can't scan DTV channels on my vizio 52''

do you have antenna or cable? if you have antena hook directly to the coax, go to menu, TV, tuner and pick antenna and scan. If you have cable hook directly to your coax repeat the previous step but pick cable instead of antenna. Notice if you have a cable box, you will not need to scan for channel since it will be on channel 3, 4 or any other input you may use.

DTV converter box

Buy a hdtv antenna to autoscan program channels which should bring in a lot more then reconnect with the older antenna afterwards and if you're still not getting all the channels then each source needs a strong hdtv antenna that can be adjusted manually.
