My Cybershot DSC-S650 has recently won't stay on. I have changed the batteries to different types. The only way it comes on is if its in viewer mode to view the pictures that I have taken. I have even when onto the Sony chat for help and went through the troubleshoot process and nothin works. This has just started happening about a month. Had the cacmera for about 4 yrs and never ahd this issue. HELP!!!

Check your menus.
Look for sound on, sound off or some such option.
Most digital cameras have an internal option in the menus to turn off the sound.
Also there should be options to make various parts of the camera sounds to be louder or softer. these are usually for start, shutter button, and others.

here is the drivers page of Sony if you have XP or Vista the drivers are already there and none have to be downloaded. Hope this helps?

To salvage the pictures you could just use a memory card reader. As for the camera itself I cannot say, but by your description it doesn't sound promising.

Batteries?
