Unplugging the set should free this---My guess is set actually has a power supply or other problem---a look inside and checks of voltages are needed---no magic here.....set needs to be inspected and things tested.

yes it can be fix ,but unfortunately not by you..beacause its a sensitive case...go to a cellphone shop to repair your lcd connector first ,that lcd connector connects the lcd or glass display to main board of the cellphone ,if it is damage or lost of contact you cellphone display is not working...second try to replace a new and good lcd before going to the last option ,which is the display driver of the phone...the display ic is a small components that makes the lcd functioning..
the above solution must be doing by an expert mobile technician and its step by step procedure must needed to prevent bigger damage in your phone..

your lcd ip board (power board) capacitor had already exhusted. got to replace either the board or capacitor.

check the thermal fuse that is small white Ceramic Fuse maybe that is defective.

Unfortinetly i cant recommend to you a quick fix or a quick check as the fault seems to be intermittent,
