Just bought a gently used 8-bottle Magic Chef wine fridge, model # MCWC8DSCT. It was cooled to 55 degrees when I examined it. Now that I've gotten it home, it won't cool lower than 64 degrees. Any ideas what the issue might be? The "fan" goes on, then goes off, then goes on again, but nothing lower than 64 degrees. I had the temp set at 55 degrees, but it wouldn't cool lower than 66 degrees, so I lowered it to 46 degrees, but it won't go lower than 64 degrees.

can you look at he back of the unit and see if the clicking sound is coming from the compressor. round black tank at the back. is it very hot? ( be careful )

if it is, then you can unplug the unit for 5 hours to cool off the compressor and then re-plug it and observe.

if it is the same, the compressor is not running.
it could be stuck or the starting relay is defective.

IN YOUR USER MANUAL THERE WILL BE A TROUBLE SHOOTING SECTION. CHECK IT OUT AND IF POSSIBLE GET A TECHNICIAN.

On the Magic Chef site you can order parts for the cooler. I took mine out and treid to find them on the web somewhere else and could not locate them anywhere except China and England. I know this isn't true but tried every search option I could think of. They are about $22 plus shipping (HIGH). to the left of compressor behind plastc cover with 1 screw will be the ptc relay on top .its got 1 wire going to it.wiggle it off to the left...go to repairclinic.com ...part# 1206838..
