The hand wheel on my Janome 9000 has become very tight and hard to turn. I am still able to sew but something isn't right.

It is very likely that the main shaft bushing on the handwheel side has failed. It is very easy to diagnose. With the top cover removed, one can inspect the bushing for any discoloration seeping from the bushing. If that is the case, the main shaft and the bushing will need to be replaced. Not a big deal, I've done lots of them, but definitely a job for an experienced technician. [email protected]

Model mc9000. Needle moves manually. Why not automatically when machine started?

Do you mean that the needle goes up and down when you turn the hand wheel but not when you step on the pedal? In that case, your machine needs a new motor belt. I've seen some of these listed at E-bay. The service manual is available from ManualsLib, https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1075981/Janome-Memory-Craft-9000.html#manual . To remove the belt unit cover, see https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1075981/Janome-Memory-Craft-9000.html?page=4 . The belt is shown here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1075981/Janome-Memory-Craft-9000.html?page=18#manual .

Warning: since this is a computerized sewing machine, you should have the service done by a sewing machine repair person. There are parts of the machine that may still be energized and touching the wrong spot could damage the machine. If you are skilled with this type of work, you can ignore the warning.

I hope this helps.

Blowing fuses. Get a vibration first

If you've checked all of the 'usual' things (cleaned, lubed the machine according to mfg. directions, new needle, etc.), take all of the thread off and try sewing for a bit without it. Same symptom? Take it for service!! Could be faulty wiring. If not, your tension may be *way* too tight. Try loosening it up a bit, first the upper tension then the bobbin, but adjust slowly - it's really easy to miss the 'sweet spot' for tension.

Hope this helps.

My 9000, on regular sewing, is My 9000, on regular sewing, is "jumping" ahead as I sew....kinda like the foot pedal is stuck. Anyone every have this and if so, is it something I can fix or do I need t

it's definitely not suppose to be jumping ahead.
have you checked the foot your using on the machine to make sure it's on correctly?
you might also check the feed dogs to see if there in the up position, in the needle plate.
if nothing I suggests works then I agree to take it to a janome dealer & let them sew on it & see what it does with them

My Janome 9000 also quit a few months ago, took it to repair shop and they replaced a fuse. Have only used it about 2hrs since and it did the same thing again. So we decided to replace fuse...

Your fuse is blowing because there is a bind in the machine. Did they service the machine when they replaced the fuse? If yes, it should be under warranty. Best guess is that it is tight from lack of lubrication, usually at the bushing nearest the hand wheel.
