Login to the web-interface in the router, and look at the "active DHCP connections" page. One IP-address should be the printer.

How to i configure the ip address on hp laserjet p3005dn so i can set up a network printer. I donot want the ip that the printer came with.

Hello, When you first install the printer onto the Network it will automatically find an IP Address, this is called "DHCP". In order to change the IP Address the printer needs to be setup as what is known as "STATIC". You can do this in in a couple of ways 1) Type the IP Adrees into an internet explorer Browser, this should open up the printers EWS (embedded Web Browser) if it opens click on the networking tab - Chnge the IP Address , set DHCP to "OFF"and click Apply. 2) From the printers control panel - push the "MENU" button and scroll down to the "CONFIGURE DEVICE" to "I/O" to "EMBEDDED JETDIRECT" Withi the TCIP setting you are able to change the printers IP Address

My printer gives me an error that the web address is wrong

is this a network printer? if so, your router may have given it a new IP address. Use the keys on the printer to find the IP address in the printer settings, and then update the IP address for the printer port in your computer.

How can i configure the IP for the printer HP laserJet P2015dn? what is the address that I can access this printer from my PC via web brower?

For configuring the IP address on the printer, you will have to browse the printer menu, and the IP or TCP/IP should be under Network. Here is basic information about troubleshooting network issues from HP website.

Once you have set up an IP address to your printer you will be able to connect from PC via the web browser by typing in the IP address of the printer.

I need to change the IP address on my hp color laser jet 2840 coud you help me with that

Hi,
Most HP printers can be reset to factory defaults (or cold-reset ) by turning the printer off and holding down the Online or Go button while turning the printer back on. The printer control panel display should read "Cold Reset" or "Restoring Factory Settings" or something like these lines. This will remove any IP address that the printer had previously.
When you plug it in, your router should have assigned an ip address automatically. Go into your router and look at the attached devices and it will show you what ip address has been assigned to each device on your network.

Use Web Interface or Manually Assign an IP address NOTE: Network HP Printers allow you to manage them via Internet Explorer. You can enter the IP address that the printer currently has and access its configuration settings. This assumes that the web interface hasn't been locked.
NOTE: We recommend that you install the latest version of Sun's Java software before trying these steps. See this How To: How to Update Sun's Java 2 Runtime Environment Plug-in.
  1. Print the Configuration page if needed. You will be entering the "current" IP Address.
  2. Open Internet Explorer. Delete EVERYTHING from the Address line.
  3. Enter the IP Address in the Address line and press Enter.
  4. You should then connect to the printer. If this fail, go to the next section to assign the IP address manually.

NOTE: There are 2 basics versions of the web interface. Type 1 is on newer printers. Type 2 is on older models

  5. Type 1: Click the Networking tab.
Type 2: Click the Administration button. Click the Configuration tab.

  6. Edit the IP address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway as needed.
  7. Do not change any other fields.
  8. Scroll to the bottom and click Apply. Click OK.
  9. Close Internet Explorer.
  10. Restart the Printer. Print the Configuration page to see if number was set.
NOTE: If the above steps do not allow you to assign the IP address via the Wizard, you will need to do it through at the printer itself.
  1. Go to this HP Support Page.

Configuring TCP/IP through the Front Control Panel

  2. Click the link to your printer model. Highlight these steps.
  3. From the File menu choose Print. In the Page Range section, click Selection. Click Print.

Note: For the complete printer user guide, go to the HP Printers Support & Troubleshooting page. Locate your specific printer type and model. On its home page, under self-help resources, click the manuals link. Download the printer's User Guide (not the Getting Started Guide). Look for steps to manually configure TCP/IP parameters from the printer control panel.

  4. Follow the steps from the printout to assign the desired IP Address to the printer.

IP address will be entered at the IP BYTE prompt
Subnet mask is entered at SM BYTE prompt
Gateway address is entered at GW BYTE prompt

Note: The syslog server IP address (LG BYTE 1=) and timeout (TIMEOUT=) do not need configured.

  5. Once the IP Address is entered, restart the Printer. Print the Configuration page to see if number was set.

Hope this helps
