Player reading invalid disc and disc is not spinning

You have to clean the dirt off the laser lens inside as it cant see the codes on the disc.Use a cleaning disc first or it will have to come apart to clean.

DVD cleaner is a kind of CD, which will have cleaning pads sticked on it. When we insert the disc in any disc player, this cleaning pad will come in contact with the lens of the reading head. As the cleaning CD spins at hing speed inside the disc player, it will wipe out all the dirt and dust, if accumulated on the lens. Thus cleaning of laser pickup lens occurs.
This cleaning disc can be boutght from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town. Even after using this disc, your DVD player does not reads any disc, its laser pickup assembly is faulty, and should be replaced. OK.

I had same problem with a sylvania portable DVD: no disc. After cleaning the laser didn't work, I took the unit apart, and found that there is a small gear that moves the laser back and forth across the disc.. The gear could easily be misaligned with a rough bump along the drive.. All I did was realign the gear to the center where the disc was. Inside, there was even a small lever to pull back on to do this.. I also noticed a small Ribbon cable connecting the laser to the main board. Again, seemed nimble. I detached the ribbon, cleaned the connectors with alcohol and reattached. Happy to say, it works perfectly now. :). Good luck.

Did you make the disk if you made the disk your computer has to give it a digital signature so the DVD player can read it if you're using a regular DVD then I would very carefully using rubbing alcohol and Q tip clean the actual laser I would be very careful doing this if too much rubbing alcohol is on the Q tip it will ruin the laser you can also try resetting the DVD player by taking out the battery and unplugging it from any power source and leave it that way for at least 20 seconds to a minute if that doesn't work you might have something else wrong

This is due to faulty DVD lens/head. Try cleaning it with DVD/CD hed cleaning CDs.If still the problem persists, contact near by service center for replacing the faulty Lens.
