This is the Sabbath mode. If you can get the owners manual. this should tell you how to get this shut off. The owners manual is usually downloadable from the customer support page on the company website.

Some ranges with a lot of features have a Sabbath mode, hence the letters Sab in the display although it looks like 5ab. Check your owners manual and it should tell you how to turn off the Sabbath mode. If you don't have a manual Google your model number and Sabbath mode.

Hello, The first thing I'd look at is your owner's manual to insure the timer hasn't been set to "Sabbath" mode accidently. If that is the case you could experience a "no display" scenario. The manual will also explain how to enter/exit the "Sabbath" mode. In the event the timer itself is at fault ( i.e. the display transformer gone bad ) it will have to be replaced or (if an available option exist's for your timer) have your timer rebuilt. It is in Sabbath mode, used for Jewish holidays. Anyway, hold the cancel button for 3-5 seconds and it should revert back to normal operating mode. It will still bake in Sabbath mode but will not display anything due to the laws regarding observation of the Sabbath
