RCA 25404RE3 Corded Phone - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Phone line is plugged in -- try to use phone and I
You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with panasonic phones MORE USEFUL INFORMATION FOR ALL YOUR ELECTRONICS When troubleshooting these units, there are always several variables to consider. First check to see what last occurred with the unit such as did the children play video games, did the electricity go out due to bad weather. You may see that there are many possibilities but let's focus on what occurred last to the unit. Once we determine what happened last, we may isolate the actual cause of the problem. The actual cause may be associated with projection issues, older versions (Picture tube), interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common with the error you have provided today. Please continue to look for anything EXTERNAL to the unit before looking at the internal components. I have been working on these a long time so feel free to follow up with me.

The cord will not stay
There should be a little clip to retain the cord in the handset. If this clip is gone, the cord needs replacing. This clip is a plastic protrusion on the clear (most of the time) connector to the handset or phone. This clip must be depressed in order to remove the cord. If it has been forced and broke off, it will not longer retain the cord.
Cables and cord as well as connectors can be purchased and installed quite easily.

Intercom use
We have the 25414RE, so I can tell you how ours works and hope it helps solve your problem...
You first have to assign each phone a "number". Push the menu button, and go to phone options (you scroll by pushing the review button to the left or right), choose set phone id (once you are on that option push the select/save button just above the review button) - I started with the first phone I plugged in and made it number one, and so on (we have a total of 5). Once the phone ids are established, simply push the intercom button and the corresponding number on the right speed dial/intercom numbers - it should dial the phone you want. It also has an option (again we have the 25414RE) to have the phone auto answer the intercom - so if you are paging someone in a room that isn't near the phone, or the phone is shared by several users, it picks up without anyone having to push anything. Otherwise, the phone that you are calling has to either have the handset picked up or the speaker button pushed. Hope that helps you!!

Line 2 doesn't work
If this is a new install check the wire to make sure it's got 4 connectors in each plug. And check the wire for pinches. There may be several other problems keeping line two from working.
If it has worked in the past and nothing has changed with the wiring then the programming may have been changed to turn off line two.

Hooking up an external intercom
If your the kind of person that can wire and "tweak" things here is my suggestion. Open the phone an run a pair of wires off of the wires going from the circuit board in the phone to the little speaker inside the phone. and run those to an amplifier and hook up speakers

How do I set up my speed dials?
next to the screen there is a "store" button. Press the button once than dial the number you want to store. Then press the button again and choose the spot where you want to store the number. The screen should then read "ok".

RCA 25404Re3 Speaker Phone
I had the same problem w/non-responsive buttons. I called Thompson and they suggested a hard reset and said the phone must be re-programmed.
Try the following:
1 - d/c the power
2 - d/c the jack
3 - remove the batteries
4 - wait 15 minutes (this is very important)
5 - replace the batteries
6 - reconnect the line cord
7 - reconnect the power cord
It is very important that this be done in the exact order mentioned.
Good luck and hope this works for you!

My speakerphone doesnt work on my 25423re1-a ,but my handset does work ? how can i fit it , thanks Ben Brazzell
Ensure that the speakerphone feature is not disabled. Some phones have a dedicated button or an option in the phone menu to enable or disable the speakerphone. Look for this option and make sure it is turned on.
Or Reset the phone to factory settings. Refer to the user manual of your 25423RE1-A phone for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings and may delete any personalized configurations.
How do I turn off a second alarm on the RCA Digital PLL radio model RP3711A?
To turn off the second alarm on the RCA Digital PLL radio model RP3711A, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the "Alarm 2" button on the top of the radio until the display shows "OFF."
2. Release the button.
3. Press the "Alarm Set" button to confirm that Alarm 2 has been turned off. The display should no longer show the time and alarm settings for Alarm 2.
If turning off Alarm 2 using the above steps doesn't work, you can try resetting the radio to its factory settings. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the radio from the power source.
2. Remove the backup battery from the radio.
3. Wait at least 30 minutes.
4. Reinsert the backup battery and plug the radio back in.
5. Set the time and alarm settings again.
Regarding the manual, the model RP3710 and RP3712 may have similar features and operation, but it's best to refer to the manual specifically designed for your radio model RP3711A to ensure that you are following the correct instructions. You can usually find the manual online by searching for the model number on the RCA website or on other electronic manual databases.
