Thats how it is supposed to work. The tv cannot produce sound unless sound is being fed into it. The audio out from the cable box supplies this sound to the unit through the audio in on the tv set.

First use the AV Mode input/source button to browse sources.

If TV is connected directly to the antenna, disconnect power, check the antenna connection, Then connect power back.

There is also an antenna setting to set it to air or cable. Check it out.

This is a text box. To get rid of it you press the cc button. You may have to press the cc button more than once or twice in a row. There is no harm in pressing the cc button. In fact turn to that channel and press it a few times in a row while looking at your screen. You will notice that you will see cc:1/2 cc:2/2 cc:text3/4 cc:text4/4 and cc:off
or something like that. When it says cc:off you will no longer see the block box on this channel or any other channel. You do not have to do this for every channel once it is done.

I Suspect Power Supply Board.Open the TV and look for Power Supply Board. Once you find the Board, Pull out the Connectors. Take the Board out. With the help of magnifying glass, you need to check Cold Solder Joints.If not, then Check the Caps and Fuses. I imagine, if this could be due to Power Shut Off, you would be able to Find Some Bulged / Swelled / Leaked Caps. You would smell Ammonia kind of odor. You need to pull them out. Order the same Caps online or go to Radio Shack. It would cost you few bucks, in fact less than 20 bucks. Once you get the Caps, solder them and it is all set.

Note - You need to take all the Precautions as this would involve Voltage.

You should check the set with another video source to rule out the set from being defective. The process of elimination is the only way to find out where the problem is.

If model of your TV is LC19SB25U, TV powers up, TV has back light,but on picture or menu, The problem is the part called main unit.

Sharp has had a few problems with their audio boards, not finding any bulletins on this model, but a few complaining about low audio on amazon reviews section. If using an antenna you will experience some channels with low audio. If using cable you should get good sound on all channels..
the 9.1 and 9.2 are digital channels and sharp does display them for at least a few seconds when you switch to that channel. Check all your setting in the audio to Stereo never SAP. To options for you are get a cable box, first check in the back and see if there is another coax in, if there are two try both rescanning after connecting.

Did you go to Menu - Setup - EZ Setup - then perform the Channel Search? It programs the channels that way.

depending on what damage has it made, if its the panel. i suggest you should buy a new one. because an lcd panel will half the prize of the actual unit.

replace the power pcb,check the fuse on the
power pcb and see if that corrects your problem.if not replace the power pcb.go tp
