Kohler 17.5 HP Command engine, model CV491S, spec 27509. I need to adjust valves, rocker arm bolt does not have set screw lock, how do you adjust gap please?

Question on craftman riding mower

with the ground wire off the coil and it turns over, you have a bad coil these engines are notorious for this. GOOD LUCK.....

My Craftsman kohler 16-hp-OHV runs on full choke, but as soon as I back off choke it surges and dies. Is this an adjustment issue or something more serious?

sounds like the carb has a problem with one of the jets. You need to remove the carb and rebuild it.

Kohler engine 241 as no spark

there is a piece next to the flywheel tha has a magnet and grabs resistence that may need replacing. I had this happen on mine. call your local repair shop and ask. I found the answer to mine on youtube and replaced it in about an hour,

Spark and fuel but engine wont fire

Usually a solenoid or battery issue. may be the flywheel too. It does turn and the flywheel on top spins horizontally, yet it will not catch? if so then it may need a solenoid next to the flywheel which grabs resistence as the flywheel spins. cheap fix and on youtube.
