I have not used PM for many years (DOS 6 & Win 3.1 days), so i'll just make an educated guess what the cause could be: Your newer version, Printmaster 12, may use a different file-extension, in other words, image file format, to the original PM8. Explorer may show the extension if set up for this otherwise use the DOS method via a Notepad-written batch-file, PMext_CD.cmd. Flash drive, aka Pendrive should be in your USB. This saves the hassle of remembering your default documents path. Of course, if you have a second HDD for storage, use it for the output result file. Let's assume flash is drive F: and CD is drive D: Open Notepad, presuming your OS is WIN xx. @echo off D: CD\ cls echo. echo SEARCHING..... Echo CD_DRIVE D FILES>>f:\pmfiles_all.txt dir/a/s/b>>f:\pmfiles_all.txt cls color 4E echo. echo CD SEARCH DONE !! pause exit save "all files" as PMext_CD.cmd You can do the same for your PM12 HDD folder. Batch-file name = PMext_HDD.cmd Note: the PM pictures may be stored in a zipped or encrypted database, which will render the batch-file useless. I'm assuming you have just updated you operating system. If this is the case, that product is probably to old to run on your new operating system. you should consider buying the newer version of that program from this link:

"Add printer" select your new one and set as default. You can delete the old one from the printers folder.

it may just not work on your computer. not all games or disks work on all computers

i would uninstall it then reboot your computer and then reinstall it. The software is fully working in vista and windows 7. So i am guessing there was a hiccup when copying files during install. I would also check drive c: or whatever drive you are installing it to , for errors

Try to use USB CD ROM, or copy content of install disk on USB FLASH DRIVE.

To use the discs you have to register. Your software has passed the free access period and to access those cds you need to register.

go to contol panel,,do a system restore..go back in time before it was uninstalled

you are gonna love this site. It is called www.emule.com you can down load anything, I mean anything for free, and your print master cd you should be able to get right away, see the way the site works is it grabs bits and pieces from owners arouond the world, so if you are looking for some high price software, you leave it running in the back grouund for as long as it takes, a day? 3 days? a couple hours, now this little old cd you need, you should be able to get it right away, also here is another idea, if the cd is cracked, but not cracked in half all the way, super glue it, but use very little as possible then clean cd to make sure there is no glue exposed on the cd surface, and it will work, let me know how this goes.

If it will not install

1. Find the Setup program.
2. Right-click on the Setup program> Properties> Compatibility tab> select "Run this program in compatibility mode" check box.
3. Select the operating system that the program ran on previously, and then click OK.

Simply click on My Computer and see if the DVD is being read...if so double click on it.

You can navigate to My Computer (Right click on it) / Properties / Hardware / Device manager / DVD drives / Right click on DVD drive listed / Properties / Region and make sure its the correct region.

NB = You only get one go at altering so only do it once or not at all. (If you try it more than once it will be rendered useless)

Also try clicking on My Computer / Right click on DVD drive letter / Autoplay / drop blind and select "mixed content"

Go to start, programs, control panel, and then to the uninstall/install programs wizard. I can't describe what you will see exactly without knowing the version and setup of your operating system.

If for some reason you cannot see Printmaster listed in programs when you try to unistall, go to start and then to your print master program entry.

Often, programs have an uninstall built in. If it doesn't, you can leave comments for me during the ratings process and I will answer any questions you many have.

I am guessing that your new computer has windows vista on it. That may be the reason Printmaster 12 will not install. Certain programs or their installations are not compatible with Vista.

I'm not sure what errors you are getting, and I am assuming you are running Windows Vista, so again I'm just guessing.

You could try to launch the setup program manually and using compatibility mode by following these steps:

1. Insert your installation disk.
2. Click the start button

3. Click on Computer
4. Right click on the drive containing your installation CD
5. Select Explore from the menu.
6. Find the Setup or Install file in the list.
7 Right click on it.
8. Select Properties.
9 Select the Compatibility tab at the top.
10. check "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
11. In the drop down menu select windows xp
12. check "disable visual themes"
13. Check "run this program as administrator" (if it is available)
14 click OK

15 now double click on the setup/install program.

First I would uninstall the program again.
Then go to start, search and look for PMUSERS.dat and delete it.
Restart your computer
It is also a good thing to temporaily turn off any antivirus software before installing also. Many programs like this Broderbund product do not install completely with the antivirus software on.
Then reinstall the program and it should run ok.
