Unit does not want to turn on. Power to switch, makes a noise when you turn the knob, but machine does nothing?

Sounds like either the unit's control board or timer is not communicating correctly. If you at all hear a humming or buzzing noise, the control board may be having issues with the motor of the unit. You would need a professional in this case to move forward.

Thanks for your phone call,
What you got here is a faulty thermostat the part would cost like $70 and change, deepening on how you want to take it from here. I would hire out if your experience level might not meet safety .
Also keep in mind there could be build up lint inside this unit so keep that in mind, this would also cause the unit heating element to shut down a little early.
I do Thank You for the phone call and do wish you best of luck with whatever decision you make going forward.

Hi twvarga...

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your drum belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.

Note: This method works with most front loading machines.

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Note: Some tops hinge and tilt backwards so they do not have to be removed and the electrical console with stay with the lid.
Also remove the lint filter and the screws holding the lint filter housing in place.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor. Now is a good time to replace the front felt seal on the drum if it needs to be replaced. Be sure to use a good grade of weatherproof cement on the seal to glue it to the drum, sometimes the glue is furnished with the seal.
Now is also a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots they will make a thumping type of noise or if there is too much wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3inOne oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

Frigidaire crown gas dryer runs fine but after

From the description you give the most likely cause of this problem are bad gas coils or a bad gas valve.

You say you see the flames for 10 minutes before it stops heating but you don't mention if the igniter is continuing to glow. One thing we need to know is if the igniter continues to cycle on and off when the dryer stops heating.

There is a small square plug on the front panel you can remove to try and visually check if the igniter is glowing.

The problem won't be the thermal fuse or one of the thermostats. Once the fuse is open the dryer won't heat but it won't start to heat after 20 minutes.

After the dryer runs ten minutes and stops heating then check if the igniter is still cycling on and off. This is important because if the igniter is working then the thermostats and igniter are okay.

When the igniter glows at some point you might hear a click and the igniter would stop glowing. The click is from the flame sensor and after the click and the voltage is removed from the igniter at the same instant the voltage is applied to the gas coils and you should get a flame.

You might hear a hum, buzz or vibration from the coils when this happens. If the coils seem to react to the voltage but there is no flame then most likely the gas valve is bad. If the coils don't do anything then most likely the coils are the problem. The gas valve and gas coils can work for 10-15 minutes and then heat up and stop working till everything cools down.

One other thing I must tell you about the gas coils. Here is a link to the gas coils you will need. These are the new style that will last quite a bit longer the the older one. The coils are like the spark plugs in your car. The will need replacing in time due to wear. Below is a video to walk you thru the repair process.

Either the belt has broken or came off the the motor and pulley. Unplug the dryer and remove the back panel. See if the belt is intact or not.

Belt is broken. how do we replace it?

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -
1. Locate the shutoff valve for the gas line behind the dryer, and turn the valve one-quarter turn by hand until the gas supply is closed off to the appliance.
2. Unplug the electrical cord of the gas dryer from the outlet.
3. Take the lint screen out of the lint screen slot on the top of the dryer, and unfasten the screws that are inside the slot with a screwdriver.
4. Place a putty knife between the top and the front panel at both corners, and lift up to disengage the plastic clips.
5. Lift up on the dryer top, flipping it toward the back of the dryer, and lean it against the wall.
6. Locate the screws inside the top of the dryer behind the front panel, and unfasten them with a screwdriver.
7. Slide the front panel forward and up to release it from the clips at the bottom of the panel, and unfasten the electrical wiring connector from behind the front panel by hand.
8. Place the front panel out of the way, and unfasten the screws on the shroud cover inside the dryer cabinet with a screwdriver, removing the cover from the cabinet.
9. Locate the idler pulley and motor in the back of the dryer cabinet on the base, and loosen the dryer belt by unfastening the bolt on the idler pulley with a socket wrench until the belt is loose enough to remove by hand.
10. Take the dryer belt off the pulleys and drum, and install the new dryer belt around the drum and the idler and motor pulleys.
11. Tighten the bolt on the idler pulley with a socket wrench to secure the new dryer belt, and reattach the shroud cover with screws.
12. Slide the front panel back over the clips on the base of the dryer, and lock the panel into place by attaching the screws to the inside top of the panel.
13. Lower the dryer top back down to the top of the cabinet, and press down to lock the lid into place on the plastic clips.
14. Reattach the screws inside the lint filter slot, and slide the lint filter back into place.
15. Plug the electrical cord of the gas dryer back into the outlet, and turn on the gas valve to restore the gas supply to the

How do I remove front panel

Disconnect power before working on this dryer.

Place putty knife in the seam between the top and front panel about 2” in from either side. Push in on clip while pulling control panel forward and tilting putty knife handle up, all at the same time. Same on opposite side. Raise top all the way.

Looking down inside dryer on left and right see a screw about 6 inches down. Remove each side while holding front panel in place. Pull top of front panel about 3 inches forward from sides and then pull up. This will disengage the front panel from lower pressure clips and allow you to turn it sideways and expose the dryer interior.

Reverse the process above to reassemble.

Service on gas appliances should be undertaken by professionals only due to the danger of gas leakage which can cause fires or death by asphyxiation.

Re: Frigidaire Dryer FEQ332CES0, Heating Element Connection

If the terminal is 5/16 it needs to be 5/16. The reason is that it passes the correct resistance. The smaller the contact, the more resistance and heat. You may be okay with a 5/16 connector in 250'F and that is probably the best option. However, I would image that any local wholesale electrical wholesaler would carry them. https://www.google.com/search?q=5%2F16+high+temperature+spade+terminal Nedco and CES are my go-to wholesalers https://www.google.com/search?q=electrical+wholesaler+near+me ..

E61 Error code Frigidaire Affinity dryer?

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your post! If you are receiving an error code E61 on your Frigidaire Affinity dryer, first check if it is a false error code by resetting the power to your appliance by either unplugging it or flipping off the breaker for about ten minutes. If the error code persists, it could potentially mean that your dryer is experiencing a failure with the heater relay. This is not a typical DIY job. I would recommend reaching out to an experienced appliance tech just to ensure no troubleshooting step has been missed. You can often locate a qualified service provider through the manufacturer website. Best regards.
