When zooming in for a close shot it will not focus

When using the tele, the closest you can be to a object is probably more that one meter. If you need to get closer you should switch to macro mode.

Lens error

that could be the lens cover not opening all the way, try and look at the lens as if you were doing self-portrait, and power on. if lens cover opens all the way but lens doesn't come out, the lens might be stuck or motor broke.

Camera will not connect with computer to download

If you got the Cable and Software CD, you can try to Uninstall the Software and then Install it again, as it may be some software/Dirver fault.

Lense error, restart your camera

If i told you to smack it around a bit would ytou believe me?

But that is the fix Canon use to get rid of these errors 98% of the time.
Charge or change the battery, insert it tuen camer on when it goes off smack it hard into your palm a few times and turn it back on.
Just incase there is some dirt/dust stopping the lens from extending blow a can of compressed air around it and give it another few slaps . Sometimes after about 20-30 ngoes of this the camera will jump back into service Believe me it does work nearly all the time Canon charged me $90 to do this trick

My camera got wet in the rain and now it wont work

Take out the batteries. Take a hair dryer and try blowing the hot air along all sides of the camera. If your camera has a plastic body, make sure not to stay in one area to avoid discoloring the plastic.

Blow the air in for a good 5 minutes. This trick has worked a few times on cameras and cell phones.

If it still doesn't work, more than likely you have shorted out the circuit and it will need to be disassembled.

Lens error restart camera

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:
