Storing
- To store numerical values in the variables A,B,C,D,X,Y and M you use the [SHIFT][RCL] key combination to access the (STOre) function.
- In what follows [ key] is the physical key and (key) is the SHIFTED key
- ex: store the value 13 in variable A
- 13 [SHIFT][RCL] (STORE) [(-)] (A)
- The calculator displays 13 --> A on top line and 13.000.. on bottom line.
Recalling
- To recall a value stored in a variable ex: recall value stored in variable A
- Press [RCL][(-)] (A)
- Calculator displays A on top line and 13 on bottom line.
If you need to use the variables A,B,C,D,X,Y, and the = sign to create an expression to be solved with the
solve( function you must press the [ALPHA] key

When press ln it is showing up as log, how do I fix this issue?
I have a cheap calculator two keys of which have been assembleo write myself a small note reminding me of the switch. The note I pasted on the inside of the cover and when I open the calculator I see the note and know what to do.If the calculator is still under warranty have it replaced or fixed. If it is no longer under warranty and the problem is with one or two keys you may want to live with it. If not get another calculator.
How to calculate log

Not with this calculator. Its brothers (FX 115ES and FX 991ES) have two = signs, one at the same position as for the FX300ES, and the other towards the top left of the keypad. Sorry.

The exponential function e^x shares the same physical key as the natural logarithm ln(x). If one is accessed directly, the other (its inverse) is accessed by pressin the SHIFT key.
How to turn memory off on casio fx300es
There is no memory that YOU can turn ON or OFF. All you can do is store numbers in some memory locations (A,B,C,D,X,Y) and M. By pressing ALPHA 9 (CLR) you reset the calculator, thus clearing the contents of the memory locations. Another way to clear a memory location is to store 0 in it. 0 ->ALPHA A, stores 0 in A.

To calculate a square root you press the square root key. A radical will be displayed. You type in the positive number whose root you want. Press the EXE key.
Cant turn a fraction into
The calculator has two input modes: MathIO and LineIO. In mathIO results can be fractions or radicals (if you are calculating roots), and PI appears as PI. The final result may not be a decimal number. To convert such a result into its decimal approximation you press the key marked [S<>D]
