Your current CPU won't fit that board,your processor is a socket LGA775 and the motherboard you listed is a socket LGA1155, also called Socket H2, here's a link to several boards that you can use your current CPU in and that also supports ddr3 memory,hope this helps.

Ram and processor ok but
If you have no display its usually either a video card or motherboard problem, since your on a laptop its probably a motherboard problem. The cost of replacing the motherboard will be about the same as a new laptop looks like you'll probably have to buy a new one.

If the RAM and the processor are ok , and you have tried booting to BIOS with all oter devices removed and it has also failed, then the only thing left is the motherboard - it's dead, junk it.

e5400 has the same socket as your motherboard does so they are compatible.
Computer shuts down y by itself
remove ur power supply socket from the mother board short the pin green and black in the connector if the smps start no problen with the power supply then the problems lies with ur mother board wiring or fault in your mother board if your mother board has secondry power fix it correctly to mother board sock et with has 4 pin if its not working cousult a chiplel engineer the fault lies in the power supply of the motherboard

No it wont take 800MHz RAM...
Using the DDR2 slots u can have 400MHz sticks (rare stuff), or 533MHz sticks
Using the DDR1 slots u can have 333MHz or 400MHz
