It overheats and shuts itself

Sounds like your heat sink is clogged with dust and your processor might need fresh coat of thermo cream. So yes you will have to open it up. you can go to acer website and under support go to drivers and downloads and download your models maint. guide or manual to see if it has step by step how to get to your heat sink and clean hardware. most laptops are built with this safety feature to shut down when it gets to hot. good luck

Acer Ferrari OverHeating

Your Fan speed may not be turning up to the right speed when it gets warm U can look in your bios and check your fan speeds and make sure all are working, and if the fans are ok, try some compressed air for electronics in the fan area and any other vents on the system. Sounds like maybe just dirty inside and can not cool properly. Try that let me know if that helps if not get a fan and run it to cool your laptop I know that sounds crazy but it will cool it down until you can 't get it fixed right, You may have to bring it in and get it fixed from a shop that can take it apart and clean everything inside.

Lcd acer al1917w dispay problem

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors - Flickering screen - Screen image disappears after several seconds - Dim screen - Slow start - Power LED on, but no picture - Unusual colors and/or lines The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad. If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced. New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years. Lcd acer al1917w display blang white

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor. 2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor. 3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on. 4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works). 5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord. 6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced. 7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Seems like you have a dead battery AND now a broken power cord. Just in case, remove battery and power cord and hold the power button down for minute.

Once there enter the model number OR service tag of the laptop then request driver (usually found in the web site's "Support Section"). There you should be able to find all the drivers for your model laptop- If this didn't help you then simply get the Intel software partner Reginout to fix all the errors which causing black screenBest of luck

Power surge, nothing working

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.
