Disks are not NTSC
What device are you trying to play the file back on? What type of disc (commercial video or homemade)? If homemade, what device wrote to the discs? If these are commercial discs, they may be PAL discs and will not play on a NTSC video player. You'd need a different player. If these are homemade discs made on another device, check if the discs were finalized by that device. If the video was made on a computer, try a different format of the video files; check the DVD specifications. I hope this helps. Please add comments with additional information on the problem if you need more help.Cindy Wells
What kind of files do
If you're trying to watch videos etc then the absolute easiest format to work with is ISO
It's basically an "image" of the original dvd. I usually use a program called Imgburn when I'm using Windows or Toast if you've got a mac.
Just make sure the ISO you download is 4.7gbs and below or else it won't work.
You can also convert any video to work with the blank dvds but you'll have to convert them using another program, for this I usually use Nero. It takes forever though so try to stick to the iso's ;)
Hope this info helps!
Will not format. Shows as
VIRUS OR TROJAN INFECTIONS:
Virus or trojans can run some process that keeps running in background. This not only harms the computer, but also prevents the pen drive from formatting as it shows that the drive is in use. Remove and re-insert thepen drive, don't double click on drive and cancel autorun operations if it starts automatically. Run a virus scan on pen drive, this will help fix the issue. Now format the pen drive.
CORRUPTED FLASH CHIPS ON PEN DRIVE:
If the pen drive is not detected at all, or shows a less capacity, then there are high chances that its a chipcorruption. Flash chips are the actual hardware components that save the data. A physical or electrical or electromagnetic damage to these chips make the pen drive faulty. This can happen because of voltage fluctuations and faulty USB ports. In such case, get the flash drive replaced if its under warranty as it can not be fixed otherwise.
FAKE PEN DRIVES:
Sounds a bit un-believable but true. There are a lot of pen drives in the market which are of very cheap quality which are fake copies of some known brands. Beware of such pen-drives. Always purchase pen-drives or memory-cards from a reliable source with bill and warranty to avoid any mess later.
Why does 700mb disc formatted to only have 552mb?
at the command prompt type chkdsk X: /f /r where X is pen drive. If it doesn't work download the recovery tool here http://freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/04/usb-drive-is-unreadable.htm

How do i format a write protected cd
If it is write-protected, then it is a CD-R or DVD-writable that has been written on -- once written, you cannot "format" it, nor "erase" any files.
Such is the "design" of "write-once" disks.
If it is a CD-RW or a DVD-RW, then you can "erase" the disk, because it has been designed to be "rewritable".

I'm sure you have tried, but have you cleaned your optics lately?
Using a Q-tip and a small amount of rubbing alcohol, and GENTLY rotate the swab across the lens, rotating it in the opposite direction you are wiping. This should "lift" any dust or grime from the lens. I would also clean the tray with a soft lint-free cloth (using an air-can just moves the dirt around, doesn't solve the problem)
Hope this helps!

Travel Drive Broke
It depends on your skill level as to if it can be fixed or not. The data is most likely still safely stored on the flash chip inside the drive casing. However, the USB connector has been just ripped off. If you have any experience soldering it would be as simple as getting a replacement usb plug from an electronics store or cutting a cable you have and then soldering the USB connector back to the flash drive inside the casing. This is something than can be done at home or possible by a repair shop that does any type of soldering work(tv, radios, ect) Most computer repair shops will look at you silly if you ask them to solder a thumb drive back to life. I would not expect more than to be able to mount your drive and copy the data. Odds are after you cut it out of the casing it will never go back in correctly.
Good Luck

CAN'T SEEM TO GET VHS TO RECORD
You inset a blank tape.
Tune the VCR to the channel or input source you desire to record.
Press the "REC" or "RECORD" button on the front panel or remote control. Everything should work out ok.
If you still have problems getting a source to your VCR, check the input cables and/or channel automatic programming freatures on the VCR.
