Hi,The compressor basically blew up inside...not worth fixing... chuck it and buy a new one...
There can be many reasons why a dehumidifier will
not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong
with their dehumidifier
Dehumidifier is running but no water is in bucket

Water started to fill up
Hello,
Many
dehumidifiers have a float switch that prevents the unit from spilling
over with the water that has been drawn out of the air. Sometimes this
switch goes bad and must be replaced. If your dehumidifier is overflowing, you can test the overflow prevention switch with a volt-ohm meter.
1) Unplug the dehumidifier and remove the switch.
2) Disconnect the leads and clip the leads to the terminals on the switch.
3) Check the pan or reservoir and empty it if necessary, or make sure the drain isn’t clogged.
4) Straighten any kinks or bends in the unit’s hose.
5) Set a volt-ohm meter to the RX1 scale (or to K-Ω or Ω
resistance on a digital meter) and depress the bar or trip lever on the
switch. If the meter’s needle shows no continuity as the switch is
clicked back and forth, the switch is probably faulty and will need
replacement.
Take care.

Hello,
With the unit unplugged, open the cover and check the alignment of the
fan. If the fan is stuck or rubbing against the fan cowling, adjust the
fan motor's mounting hardware so that the fan turns freely.
Good luck.

Hi,
First, make sure the humidistat isn't set too high by adjusting it to
the lowest humidity setting and running it again.
Next, test the
dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower
running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several
minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and
coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you
still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue.
This situation will have to be addressed by a qualified technician.
Good luck
The dehumidifier doesn't seem to be working as
There are a couple of factors that would affect the dehumidifiers performance. The room temperature, and relative humidity and, airflow.
You say that it is still pulling water from the air, perhaps the problem is that the relative humidity is higher than before and the unit is having a tough time keeping up. You can help your unit to perform better by cleaning the coils and fan with a household cleaner like 409 and let it sit for 5 minutes then hosing it off. Allow it to dry completely before using.
Also, the temperature of the room can affect performance. If the temperature is below 65 deg F, it will have a hard time pulling the humidity from the air. You will need to raise the room temperature to make it work more efficiently.
As for recharging, most dehumidifers are sealed units, and does not have the hose fittings to charge as you would for a central A/C unit. If you took it to an A/C repair shop, they would need to add these fittings which would make the recharging cost probally more than the unit is worth.
Hope this helps you.

Hi,
The
tank may be full. Your dehumidifier has a safety device that turns off
the dehumidifier when the water tank is full. Usually the tank itself
either presses against a switch or there's a device connected to the
tank that triggers a switch when the tank is in place and full.
If
you've emptied the tank and the unit doesn't run, inspect the place
where the tank rests to see if there's a switch or mechanism that's not
being activated. You may be able to turn it on with a simple flick of
your finger.
Good luck.
