Maytag M7DH65B2A Dehumidifier - Page 6 Questions & Answers
My Maytag Model number M7DH65B2A is not collecting
Hello,
First, make sure the humidistat isn't set too high by adjusting it to
the lowest humidity setting and running it again.
Next, test the
dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower
running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several
minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and
coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you
still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue.
This situation will have to be addressed by a qualified technician.
Take care.
Water does not exit through
This can happen from only 2 causes:
1 - the water exhaust hose is clogged - this is very simple to test, just try to blow on the hose - if you can't then it's clogged. To clean it you must first find where the blockage is. Just check each hose separately and replace the clogged one. If the blockage is in the unit you will need to clean it using a soft wire or something like a long zip tie.
2 - the exit of the hose is higher than the unit - the only way to test this is to dig a hole and lower the end of the hose in it.
The fan on my maytag
Hello,
Your dehumidifier's fan is what draws the air in the room over the coils. If
there is no air movement from the unit or if the fan stops working, it is possible that the fan
motor may have burned out. If so, the fan motor needs to be replaced.
So, check the fan motor of your unit as its most likely that the fault might be from there.
Good luck.
5 year old unit does
Hi,
If the compressor is running and not pulling moisture from the air the issue would be with the sealed system. Typically the sealed system has a leak and the refrigerant (freon) is lost. Once the loss reaches a certain level the refrigeration process stops and the unit no longer can absorb moisture.
Check your owners manual to see how long of sealed system warranty your model has, many of these had a 5 year warranty on the system.
If not then the cost to repair a leak and recharge will exceed the cost of a new unit. Typically about $400.00 for a repair.

Won't power on
Several things could cause the dehumidifier to not turn on. It could be the switch itself, or the power cord, or some internal component. If you have a multimeter, you can take the unit apart and test the switch and the power cord.
Also make sure the outlet is getting power and no circuit breaker has been tripped.
Not condensing
Check to see if coils are getting cold, (run for 10 min. then unplug, and check inside unit). If they are, check and clean filter and coils. If not, most likely no economical to fix. Check consumer reports before buying a new one. New standards came in to play this year. Changed quality on the units.
How do I fix my Matyag M7DH65B2A dehumidifier?
Can you check that the tank is signalling the machine that it is in. Usually there is a float of some type that protrudes from the tank and hits a switch to tell the machine it is there but not full. See if you can hit this switch manually to check if it will go on.
Quit operating.
Try pulling the AC plug for at least 24 hours.
Our 'stuff' has a bunch of integrated components in it and will sometimes 'lock up.'
If you are lucky, it won't have any battery backup for the settings and will eventually cure itself without power applied.
