Monitor says no signal

If you have truly connected the monitor to the machine, and the machine is on, make sure that your monitor is not set to the wrong type of input. Many monitors accept DVI and VGA, and having it set to the wrong one will not allow you to see your input. If that's all squared away, your machine may be having difficulty outputting video. This can be a bad video card, a faulty system board, etc... Test with another monitor if you can. This will help you determine whether it is the monitor or the machine.

Monitor hook up

You should be able to connect the LCD monitor providing your laptop has got a VGA connector to allow this, then you will need to change your display settings depending on whether you want the same desktop on both monitors or whether you want to extend your laptop desktop on to the second monitor.

I think ihave a audio on my monitor,so shoud it

Hi,I see that you believe that you monitor has a built in speaker on it, if your monitor does have built in speakers on it then the only way to make the speaker get audio from the monitor is to have it hooked up on your computer using an HDMI cable connecting your monitor to the computer where audio and video will be rendered by the HDMI port providing Video and Audio to your monitor. But if your monitor does not have HDMI on it or you computer does not have an HDMI port then that will be an issue, if your computer does not have an HDMI port then getting an expansion Video card that has one will make thing work for you and get you audio out of your monitor. If you are only using VGA or a DVI cable connecting your computer to the monitor then audio will not come out as it should on the monitor.I hope this will be informational and helpful to your concern.have a nice day, mvincentc

The dark or black picture is caused by a failure in the back light power supply. The problem can be corrected by replacing a few parts called capacitors on the board. Replacing them will require a little soldering but anyone can do it. Here is a link to a page that shows what needs to be replaced.

It is a little tricky problem. But anyways this is due to small capacitor leak you have to replace it to make it work well. You can identify it by seeing the top of it. See the below pix for more info.

Are you going to DIY repair? If you do, then please read on.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/ Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My proview 19 in turn

It may be the internal backlight that is failing. You can take a flashlight and hold it close to the screen, move the flashlight all around the screen and check if you can see anything. The display will be dark, but you should be able to make out the image that is there with the flashlight technique. If you can see an image on-screen, then your backlight has failed and you will need to replace the monitor. Weather or not you see an image is not a critical issue, but a tool to verify if the backlight is off or some other issue is causing the problem.
Note, it may be difficult to detect an image on the un-light display, for example if you have a dark image as your desktop background. So make sure to fully scan your display (top to bottom, and left to right covering the entire screen) with the flashlight technique in order to see any image on-screen.

Check that the cable is firmly connected and plugged into the right connection on the computer. Make sure that the monitor is reading from the right input, (i.e. if it's a blue connection it should be set to VGA/Analog, if white then it should be DVI/Digital) or at least set to Automatic.

This can be configured on the monitor by pressing its' Menu button.

I do not have this model in my Photobucket site yet.
Here is where you get the set of caps from: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Repair-Kit-Proview-PL926Wbi-LCD-Monitor-P1660430.aspx

To open it up, you will need to remove the base and any screws on the back, then use thin flat blade screw driver the crack open the case starting at the bottom edge and work your way around, do not completely open it up, once you can get your fingers in between the front and the back of the case, lay the monitor face down on soft surface then pull up the back case. You may break some of the plastic finger hooks, not much you can do about that since they are one-way fingers, go in easy but gard to remove.

See example here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/ACER%20AL2017%20BMD/

How do you connect the XBOX audio line out to the monitor audio input? If the xbox HDMI output is set to send the digital audio through the HDMI cable, you will not get the sound since you are using HDMI to DVI because the DVI is not made to accept the digital audio. You will need to to use the XBOX analog audio output instead feeding the audio cable with mini stereo phone plugs, please read XBOX user manual.
