You will need to get a converter program to turn it into a dvd.
There are several free ones out there, but I would use FREE DVD CREATOR. It is easy to use, can convert almost any type of media into a dvd, and....IT'S FREE !!!

More than likely, the inline power fuse opened with the reversed voltage applied. This will require opening the camera, this is no easy task and should be left to a qualified technician.

if you mean you don't have any picture on LCD
you have to change the flat cable that connect LCD to main board
sometimes that cable disconnect because of shock so you have to connect it

I bought my 203 2 years ago-same problem. I FOUND THE SOLUTION! Might sound stupid, but I found it online, tried it and it works! When you get the "Dew Detected" sign on the screen, remove the battery, give it a good palm hit on the bottom where the battery sits. Hit it a couple good times, put the battery back in and voila it will work guaranteed! I thought it was dumb at first, tried it and it works, hell it works everytime. The blow dryer, plastic bag trick dont work because its an electrical error, not actual dew.

I think the problem with this camera is that you have to download to your PC with a USB cable, hardly ever works with most new PC's with Win 7 or Vista as camera drivers are not built-in.
The firewire is the way to download if your PC has one okay, good luck.

This fault is caused by the fact that the camera, thinks that the "Record" "tab", on the media has been set to "Protect" if this is set, on the Cartridge then it cannot be re-recorded on. Basically, it is "Write Protected" this is either a fact, and it is ON. Or this is the sensor in the camera, has developed a fault, in that sensor, or the "Brain" of the unit.

A nice easy one. Eject your tape and look for the record lock on the cassette. It's usually a small plastic red tab which you slide to one side. The record will then work.

It's put there to stop you mistakingly record over the top of something you want to keep. Just make sure it's nor something you want to keep before recording over it :-)

I have had this problem. Dont despair! It s a cleaning issue or possibly slight moisture issue. They want you to clean the tape heads. Stick a cotton cue tip in there; i didnt use any denatured alcohol or anything... like we used to do with audio cassette tapes. And/or With a little bit of warm dry air (sitting in the sunshine perhaps) it should correct itself in a day or so. Happened to me (at wrong times of course) maybe three times or so. But never even ruined any tapes that I am aware of. Take heart, its a great little machine when cared for. Except I actually, alas! finally droped mine and now cant get the door open! . . . I was using the PV GS150 primarily by that time, but am still hoping to get the DV203 running again, still pics were really no good on it, but everything else was. All these years worked like a charm, except the few times it zebraed out on me briefly.

I have it, it's stinky software but a must have for the dvd copy button. is there a way to e amil to ya or is it a burn a copy and mail it thing ?

I had exactly the same problem. It is moisture from a climate change that is causing the problem. REMOVE THE BATTERY - IMMEDIATELY. Open the tape door. Place the camera upside down (and open) on an open heater vent. Let the warm air from your heater flow through the camera for 20-30 minutes. You can then replace the battery and it should work fine again
