FPD1530 comes on then goes off after a second.
Well, it is hard to find new 15" LCD monitors these day, new one are so cheap (and cheaply made also), it can be a good learnibg experience for some one who is learning electronics to try to fix it.

darladon2, 12fixlouie here. Your old 1530 may need some repair work done on it's ac to dc power supply / inverter board. to bring it back to life. It's thin fluorescent lamps (cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps (ccfl's)) are not staying "lit"!!! You will find out all you need to know, and more, if you do some reading of the fixya profiles of "budmrtn" or "buddymc" or my "12fixlouie" and follow links you find there. Replace the 2 1Uf capacitors on the power supply board. They are at the edge between the 2 lamp plugs.

is HDD light is blinking on Computer when it is working ? if so , computer is working and you are having video card issue or something wrong with the monitor.

It can mean that the monitor is not receiving the signal from PC, or the fault can be in the monitor itself. Try the monitor on the other PC to see if it does the same, then post back so we can guide you further.
Gateway FPD1530 Backlight turns on, but no display
has to do with power i can get myin to stay some times but then the same thing hapens to me u have to buy a new power board wich is esy to replace and i have had min as a second screen for like 4 or 5 years now with no probloms so its just from over use..
Monitor says NO signal...can hear the computer
you must make sure that the VGA cable to the computer is properly fitted to the sys unit. if problem persist pls add a VGA card to your sys unit to solve your problem rate solution Afterwards
What does it mean when
You either have a faulty signal or the correct input is not selected on the monitor.Note the source has to give it input for that signal to go away.If the pc is on and it display that message the video card is bad.Try the monitor on another source.
