Check the circuit breakers.

You are getting oil into the cylinders. Possibly bad seals on the valves or bad rings on the pistons.

if this is a holiday trailer it is only wired for 110 volts ! are you putting 220 through the fuse panel? if so that would do it !

try running it with nothing hooked up if it runs fine, then the power draw is to much for it that would cause it to hunt !!!

your float is stuck and wont shut of the needle and seat so it floods make sure you shut fuel of when not running and check your needle and seat and see if it shuts of the fuel from the tank

make sure oil level is correct and viscosity. check governor arm for binding if loose and floppy internal mechanical damage. If you have the electronic governor actuator on your model then need to check for battery voltage on it, if present actuator bad, if not control board

try and run it with the gas cap loose the vent could be plugged up if it stays running but pops the circuit breaker the your over loading the system

most cheaper generators do not have a idle kick down and are made to run at 1850 rpm's the older ones run at 3600 rpm if it has a no load idle system there will be a switch
