Welcome to Fixya. It seems that Mustek did not release a driver for this scanner. If you will check the link below it only supports Windows XP, 95, 98, 2000, and ME. Sometimes if the device is released before Windows 7 they may not have the driver for it.

i didn't solve it but it isn't worth paying to have someone send a picture, i'll find some other way.

Try this URL: http://mustek1200vista.googlepages.com/. You will need to download the file, extract it and then plug in your scanner. Tell the plug and play utility to search your computer and go to the folder created in the extraction step.

Edited for clarity. Full 'make model (what is is )' please first 3 words. Thermal cut out, thermal fuse, or burned out motor.
