Hi.

In normal condition the range finder works detecting the reflection of the laser beam on display. When the laser beam is not detected the range finder will not work and will show the word "Laser" to report the fault to the user.

In some case the problem can be caused by dirty rangefinder screen or weak batteries. More commonly, with prolonged usage, difference of temperature and continuous shaking the rangefinder laser goes slightly out of position (calibration) or laser beam frequency changes slightly and the beam is not detected by the sensor.

Try changing the battery and cleaning the front screen. If that does not work the range finder must be tuned and calibrated. The repair is a major job that must be done by a specialist. If basic maintenance does not work you will need to call for repair. In that case use the Bushnell number listed on the owners manual or see Bushnell - Contact us.

it's a very small black switch on the top of the circut board in a rectangular opening in the battery department.

If your unit powers up and all the lcd segments are on.....The main circuit board has lost its programming. Check the model number. (on the back on a small black strip) call bushnell and find out if it can be reprogrammed. If you have the model in the picture it can be reprogrammed but, there is no guarantee how long that will last. I would look at some newer technology.

It needs an alignment... IF not all the LCD segments are not working (hold down the power button) it will need more than likely a alignment and lcd. Hurry, they are starting not to do this service.(new models coming in)

Can you replace battery in Bushnell Phantom? You can not change the battery. Do not attempt to open, disassemble or service the internal battery. The battery must be replaced by a qualified technician. If you suspect the battery is not working properly please contact Bushnell Golf support.

You never told us what model number or telescope TYPE you own. Is this a refractor or a reflector. ???

If a REFRACTOR usually you have a diagonal, the diagonal goes into the focuser and then the eyepiece goes into the diagonal.

On a REFLECTOR the eyepiece goes directly into the focuser.

Take it to your local camera shop. They may know someone that does repairs. I would force Bushnell to do under warranty by forging an invoice.

Here is the manual. It mentions the battery 4 times but not the type. It would be the one that fits the space in the holder. Likely a CR2032 coin battery or LR43, SR77 watch battery.
