You cannot reset the security code. Once it has been set, it is part of the system's operation. You should be able to bring it into a service depot and they can reset it, but you will need your original receipt. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THE FACE IS NOT ENGAGING THE SWITCH WHEN IT CLOSES OR THE SWITCH IS STUCK "ON" AND THE FACE IS CLOSING AND MAKING IT THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH PLAYER AND SAFEGUARDING ITSELF. TRY CHECKING THE SERVO SYSTEM FOR THE FACEPIECE AND MAKE SURE ITS CLOSING FLUSH WITH THE HAD UNIT.

sometimes you have to have the face holder in an upright position to make sure all of the traces on the flexible cable are good. chances are the cable is bad.

This happened to me. What worked was turning off the ipod (not stand by mode). Turn it back on and plug it in, it should work.

A Security Code Bug in some Kenwoods

This hapened to me also. I removed the power fuse to the radio and it reset itself.
