I would be surprised if this model has component inputs from its age and if so it is not a HD set.

1. • 1 Turn on your Sony Trinitron television.
   • 2 Flip the power switch on your degausser.
   • 3 Maneuver the degausser's coil so that it is a few inches away from the face of the screen. Draw the center of the degausser coil around the entire perimeter of the screen, and then return the degausser to the middle of the screen.
   • 4 Slowly back away from the Trintron's screen. This serves to decrease the degausser's impact on the CRT's magnetic field to zero. Continue backing away until you are about five feet away from the screen
   • 5 Flip the power switch on your degausser to turn it off. The CRT's magnetic field should return to its normal state and the picture quality of your Sony Trinitron should improve.

you must test the Tuner( lubricates,contacts) b) i-f c) video detector, video amp d) AGCIF you have trouble to some find any parts, and is very excessive will be better to get some used parts from any repair shop TV, talk with this persons and they have some resources for supplies.God bless you

Just check its screen voltage. If it is more than normal this kind of fault can occur. Technically it is called 'retrace lines'. i may be able to help you,is red light blinking. if so how many times. it may blink like 5 or 6 times perhaps more or less then pause and cycle over

Look at attached photo--if it is what you have you have a convergence problem.

The KP-53HS10 uses two of the STK-392-020 convergence chips.

Both will need to be replaced and the set adjusted--parts cost on ebay is less than 20 dollars--repair consists of two things--getting at the parts and then replacing them--chips are soldered in so you need to be able to un solder them and solder the new ones in.

Good day!!!!That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply section..Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..1. Open the back cover of your TV.2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

That problem is usually cause of faulty DLP bulb inside your TV..please replace it to works fine again..

Good day!!!That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or mainboard..Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:

1. Open the back cover.
2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..

If your TV is DLP projection there is the possibility that you have a bad bulb or lamp engine...]If your TV is last a years now that is the problem because DLP bulb or lamp engine have a life span like your daylight lamp or fluorescent lamp in your house..

That problem is on the convergence issue..The problem is usually cause of bad convergence I.C the part # is usually start with letter STK####..and follow by numbers...Hope it helps..

You have a weak capacitors in the power supply. Your description has enabled me to say this is the solution. We TV techs call this "breathing". You may control some of this with raising the contrast and brightness to see the picture stabilize.You will need a TV tech to correct the power supply. I have not worked on projection TVs for some time. This is a classic problem with a classic fix. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

you have better chances if you have failing capacitors on your projection board.Just look at the actual image of capacitors if you see that look like leak or bulged on the top please replaced it with the same type,ratings and value.


if the problem persist please try this solution below:

5 times, Diagnosis: White balance failure (Not balanced) Possible causes: Video out (IC7101, 7201, 7301) is faulty (CR, CG, CB board), CRT drive (IC309) is faulty (A board), G2 is improperly adjusted. Symptoms of the problem: No raster is generated, CRT cathode current detection reference pulse output is small.

The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV.
The self-diagnostic function of the projection TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue. As per the two examples below, some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
If the STANDBY light flashes three times in sequence, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
If the STANDBY light flashes four times in sequence, the TV may be overheating. To resolve this issue, ensure that the back of the TV is well ventilated.

If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.
