good day friend. check for an open resistor with high wattage and low resistance. explain how that nl8001 looks. does it have colored bands on it. give me a description of it. does it look burned. check your dc voltage on your main filter cap. it should be between 150v to 160ish v look in the horizontal section. check the horizontal output transistor, to see if there is about the same voltage as the main filter cap. thank you and please give me a positive rate.
Need to replace the flyback (transformer) is it
good morning friend. it is not very complicated to fix, but it is far more better to allow someone with experience to solve this problem. there will be excess solder on the bottom of the circuit board the connects the flyback. you must desolder this in order to remove it. you need to have a mesh desolder wick in order to completely remove the solder. go over each eyelet( pins from flyback) as many times it take to completely clean it. follow the cords to their different destination and unplug them. write down each location and what you did and go into the reverse order. thank you and pleasew rate my solution.
My TV (Sony KP-53HS10) TV recently experienced
The problem might be the Convergence circuit went bad, generally there are 2 chips (part# starts with STK392 - something) that will need to be replaced, it involves de-soldering and soldering some tried doing themselves and made it worst. A local TV shop may charge from $300 to $475 depends on the labor service call and parts.
Good luck

Some of the resistors on the yokes return might be open.they would low values like .22 to 3.3 ohms and would be near the modules(chips). just do a quick resistance check and you should be able to spot them.good luck

If you can`t adjust your convergence via the menu then you have a faulty digital and/or analog convergence board
TV problem
you need to change both chips and ck resistors and pico fuses

a) White balance failure when timer/standby light flashes 5 times
b) probable location = Video Out
CRT drive
G2 improperly adjusted
c) try to lower down G2 voltage a little, might need to replace IC if resoldering wont work
The screen just blinks on
Disconnect all the cables from the TV including the power cables then press and hold the power button on the TV set for 30 seconds.
Reconnect all the cables afte a few hours. Make sure that you've connected the power cord from the TV directly to a functional wall outlet.
If the issue persists then the TV requires service as the problem may be with one or other chip.
Have SONY 53
Whenever i get these types of problems especially in sony sets,i first clean all the video related boards,i use fast evaporation paint tinner,to get the flux and grime off, then resolder all or most of the flat pack ic`s (be carefull,if you cant do this, then dont) use a magnifying viser to check each ic for bridges and solder splashes, wash boards again with tinners after resoldering. This works for me 99% of the times. If you need the schematic for this set request it at

Any malfunction associated with a flashing light usually indicates a
circuit problem or defective component. Unfortunately, the days of
taking off the back cover of your TV and replacing a defective tube or
fuse are long gone. Proper servicing will require troubleshooting
procedures that can only be performed by a qualified electronic repair
facility or professional television repair person. Ask for an estimate
and a realistic appraisal of whether the set can be adequately fixed.
Depending on the age and condition of your TV it may not be cost
effective to repair.
The color on my Sony KP-53HS10 TV is fading in and out.
talk to a tech in your area--it sounds like a bad solder connection---an economic decision---some solder connections from heat and expansion become bad solder connections as a set gets older; also after 2001 we went to lead free solder--this has created a lot of problems as it does not always stick when it is soldered.
