Have power,but no sound

Maybe there is something wrong with the sound card driver. You can update it to see whether it exists. For listening music, I think watching concerts or theater plays is a better way. If you are in trouble with how to buy tickets, en.damai.cn can help you solve this problem easily.

Flashing protected screen

You have two speaker wires touching. Check each speaker and the back panel jacks. Even a single strand of wire will short things out and lock the protection mode.

How do i connect an

Connecting to a home stereo
  1. For most home stereo systems, connect iPod to your amplifier's sound input using a 3.5 mm mini stereo to RCA adapter cable.
  2. Adjust the volume on iPod to less than half to prevent overdriving your amplifier. Adjust the listening volume using your stereo's controls.

Note: Depending on your stereo, iPod may need to be set higher than half in order to get a proper volume through external speakers.

I plug it it, hit the power button, and get quiet

When you press the power button and nothing happens it is only an indicator that the power supply into the unit is not circulating as it should. The power supply pack inside the unit might have blown up due to a power surge. Get an expert to take a look at the power supply.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Stereo makes pop noises out of speakers

Sounds like bad solder connections somewhere on the main board!
If the unit is a few years old or more connections break down from "heat" and use.Try resoldering and/or take to a good shop for repair!

Sony Receiver STR-DE310 flashing "PROTECT'

Replacing ouput transistors and probably a couple of resistors is best left up to a repair shop. The entire main board needs to be removed to access the solder side of the board, many screws and several connectors.

Sony AM/FM Receiver problem

I had a similar problem with my unit. I found no evidence of a short circuit and after removing the cover no evidence of burns or overheating . I turned the unit on and off repeatedly and eventuaully it started. As I was moving the unit back on its shelf I brushed my ring hand across the top of the unit and the "protect" warning started to flash. It occurred to me there might be a static electricity issue. I hooked up a ground wire as per the manual. Problem solved----at least for the past few weeks. The system has work flawlessly every time I turn it on.

Receiver won't turn on

Disconnect all the speaker wires, then turn the unit on. If it does not power on and the standby light is "out" pop the top and check the internal fuse by the power cord. Beyond that, without the proper testing equipment, it's all a guess. If the unit turns back on with all the wires disconnected, then reconnect your speaker wires one by one and test each time. If it does not cut out, you found the problem. Wire touching. If it cuts out, disconnect wire at the speaker and re test, if it still cuts out, replace the wire and try again. Then re connect the same speaker to the new wire and test. If your lucky, all will be well. If not, it will need to be serviced or replaced, based on cost. Hope this helps

Str-de310

hey painkiller.. :)

Have you tried disconnecting it from the mains power for 20 mins or so then fire it up again. This will allow it to reset. Often fixes this sort of problem. If not, get back to me here and we can try some other things.

gotta love black sabboth :)
