Replace front panel board the one with off/on vol- vol+ channel- ch+.

You have a opened fuse FL231 next to flyback transfomer are 3 Fuses they look like small brown squares/ Fuse in the middle is bad when you do not have convergence listed in menu.You can pull the top off of these fuses .

I read the other post you made and I don't belive that the flyback transformer has gone , and these models and makes from rca do have some common fixes that are found out by tech's . this problem that you are having can be in the power section , stanby circuit , protection circuit or even a horizontal output IC or some component that is causing the set not to come on . the flyback transformer would need to be tested to determine if it went bad but the power section would need to be tested first because there are different voltages that come out of the primary transformer and they go to different parts of the tv's functions and circuits , also info like what happen when it went out? and or was there a problem with it while watching it before it went out? , this can help to know what section was failing , thus start the testing in that section.
the best thing to do is to call an electronic repair shop to have a teck come out so they can determine the failure for you , as these are pretty complex sets and unsoldering and soldering , testing of and value idenentification of components is required , so if you cannot perform these then you could be putting alot of money into it and never finding the problem.

on that model it may be the flyback or the Horizontal output or Both. Comon on that chassis. Let me know if you need more assistance.

What is the cassis number to your set. RCA has to be diagnosed by the chassis as they have used different chassis depending on manufacturer. Should be a PTK number located on the back of your set.

ok i have seen this happen a few times its common solution is to replace the front keyboard cuircit. i have also seen the infrared sensor problem. the processor thinks it getting a menu on command

More likely a bad flyback transformer......T.

This is a convergence problem and can be either bad connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. Try resoldering the pins first. If that fails, replace the ICs. These ICs are large, black and attached to a heatsink. It should be marked STKxxx.

solder connections around the flyback most likely. That is a common fault with the PTK and CTC chassis. Hope this helps.

Does this set have one or three projection CRTs? If one, just follow the high tension wire that connects to the middle (front to back-wise) of the tube...this comes directly out of the flyback...
If three tubes, there MIGHT be three flybacks, or all three could share the same secondary anode supply voltage.

Don't do this with the set on, and be aware that the CRT(s) can act as giant capacitors and hold a SUBSTANTIAL charge even after being off for months! Discharge the tube with an insulated screwdriver or test lead, grounding the connection on the tube.to metal framework. I've accidentally stuck my elbow into a 25,000 volt SURPRISE more than once, and it is a SHOCKING experience !!! Ha !!!

Sounds like a capacitor blew or the Flyback has shorted. Does the power led light up when power is pressed?

It's possible it could be the problem cause thats the power supply ic to the convergence circuits and it only has 1 where most has 2 stk's you can get a replacement ic at the sight i posted for you with free tec support

Thats a strong possibility as the STK730-010 is the power amplifier for the convergence circuits. Its an inexspenive part to replace and easy to install. You can get a replacement IC at the following link and they provide free on line tech support for free as well as send instructions on how to replace the IC. Here is thier link if youd like it.
