There could well be some damage inside the VCR that is causing the system to go out of sync. Also the mode switch might need replacing.

Ok. You connect the vcr to the televison first. Take an rca cable and connect it to the video out of the vcr then connect the other end to the av input on your television. Then take another set of RCA cables and connect them to the RCA av input on your vcr and connect the other end to the output on your dvr.

Now hopefully your tv has another RCA input you can hook directly to the dvr with another set of RCA cables to another one of the dvrs outputs. If not then don't worry about that.

Now make sure the tv is switched over to the av video RCA input the vcr is connected to and turn the vcr on. The vcr should be in input and when it is you will see the picture from your dvr and you will change channels with your dvr remote. You can now record using the vcr remote.

Find Video & Audio Out pins at back of Combo player. This is output signal which will be connected at Video & Audio Input at front of TV. Watch out video pin will go to video input. Now select AV input of TV by remote. Usually its AV-4.

Hi It's difficult to be sure without being able to see the lines myself, but what it sounds like is some stray RF is getting into your video signal. Although your cables are supposed to be shielded, this is a common problem. The first thing I would do is move the cables or cable you are using, in relation to any power cords hanging down behind your equipment while someone watches for the lines to change or dissapear, and is that has no effect, then if possible change the position of the VCR in relation to the tv, so that if for example it is under the tv, move it to the side, or farther away, and the lines may very well dissapear. That problem is due to a common interaction between the tv and vcr where there is not enough shielding, usually inside the bottom of the tv set. Hope this helps, good luck!

Have you tried hooking up the VCr and TV using RCA cables? You must connect Video out from VCR to Video IN of Tv and Audio out of VCR to Audio IN of TV.

Try to check the power supply output side where anything could came into contact with positive and negative line for which when you press play button then it shuts down.

RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.
