Poor picture quality on my samsung HD TV
Hey xf1racer,
Based on the description that you provided, it sounds like you are using a bundled composite video cable to connect your cable box and TV. Composite video cables generally consist of three color-coded cables: one yellow, one red and one white. While the yellow cable is typically used to transmit the video signal to your TV, the red and white cables transmit the right and left audio channels respectively.
Red/green/blue bundled cables however, are often referred to as component video cables - each of the three colored cables is used to transmit a different portion of the same video image from one device to another, and require a second separate cable (typically red/white) to transmit an audio signal.
The primary benefit of using component over composite cabling is that many users may report a cleaner, more brilliant image on their TV as a result. Please keep in mind however that this is not a guarantee that changing from your current set-up to component cables will improve the picture quality on your TV, as picture quality is often based as much on personal preference as it is the actual configuration and settings of the equipment used.
Additionally, many retailers may suggest changing your current configuration to one using HDMI cables instead to improve picture quality even further. Unlike composite and component cables, standard coaxial cables, and S-Video cables which transmit analog signals, HDMI cables are designed to instead transmit uncompressed digital signals. This typically means that more information is available for your TV to process in terms of color hue, color intensity, as well as image resolution. Again, remember that any perceived improvements will be based on both personal preference as well as your home theater configuration.
Should you have any questions or lingering doubts, I would strongly suggest speaking with a Magnolia Home Theater agent at your local Best Buy™ store for more information. Most stores will have similar TV's on display using more than one type of connection, and sales associates are always able to provide additional suggestions if desired.
Hope this helps you out.
Sincerely,
Aaron

Convergence out and turns itself off
You will need to replace the two Convergence ICs STK392-040 they are located on large heatsinks on the large board on the right side of your TV. You can order replacement ICs at the following link, and They will also include free instalation instructions plus provide free tech support if needed. here is the link

Convergence issues
Yes the HC-P4252W and the HC-P4752W are both P59A chassis so they both use the two STK392-010 Convergence amp iCs that are located on the sub deflection board
Rear Projection Samsung w/ convergence out
I believe it is mute-1-8-3 to enter the service mode, HOWEVER, I have also read that until the convergence problem is repaired, i.e. - depending on the configuration, either 2 individual IC's located on the lower board with 'playing card' size heat sinks or a simple replacmenet convergence board, adjusting the convergence through the service mode is comparable to "ripping the transmission out of your car to fix a flat tire". I myself have not gone into the service mode since I am still waiting for the replacement IC's - I get to do a component level repair.

check fuse on board next to power cord, should be 250V 6.3A fuse
Power plug/cord
I called Best Buy and they ordered the part that I needed. Thanks.
Black out
Green isnt controled by the Convergence ICs that is controled by electrical settings programed into the service menu. You will no doubt need to troubleshoot your set. I work for a site that sells service manuals that are emailable and will provide free unlimited support to help you do the diagnosing and order any parts you need. If you would like me to post a link, let me know.

Without diagnosis I would bet on a tuner.. with PIP you have two tuners. However, check all your cables, with any electronic equipment, we always first start with the simple things and work upward toward more complex possibilities.
Skewed picture
Is it a projection? DLP? LCD? etc... depending on the type the suspicion i have is it is out of focus. The symptom of writing triplicate comes from the thing being out of wack.. a tech needs to fix it. all this is assuming ;you have a projection tv of some sort.
Colors out of place.
hmmm...should be a separate function, called degauss. that's standard on all of those sets.. let me check my notes again.

actually, that's a relay clicking you hear..seems that your main board is really and truly unhappy. This sort of system is a high maintenance type, in case you haven't figured that out.
