He may have to get underneath the dashboard and see if their is a security strap or wire harness holding the radio into the mounting sleeve. It's common for installers to strap down the stereo to prevent thefts and other installer from easily taking the radio out. Have him keep trying.

You may have a bad volume down switch. If so, it needs to be replaced.

try putting the radio in standby mode first.

Red - Power - Connect to Acc on ignition or battery positive. Connected to Battery the unit will not power down when the ignition is switched off
Yellow - Memory back-up. Connect to battery positive
Black - Connect to vehicle earth or battery negative
Blue/white - Used to power up remote power amplifier or power antenna. Do not draw more than 300mA at 12V from this line
White + White/black - Front left channel
Grey + Grey/Black - Front right channel
Green + Green/black - Rear left channel
Violet + Violet/Black - Rear right channel
Use the wire with the black line in it for negative on any channel.
Do not earth any speaker wires.
RCA output jacks are used to send the output from the unit to an amplifier if you have one and cannot be used to power a speaker.

When a head unit doesn't remember settings like yours, then the Yellow constant battery wire isn't hooked up correctly. This wire provides power to your unit constantly from the battery so that it can remember the settings and such. Your aerial not going up is the Blue power antenna wire. This wire will provide power so that when you turn your unit on, it powers the antenna to go up. Hope this helps!

the connections between the unit and cars battery are wrong!you must connect the yellow cable with the continuous battery+ cable and the red with the acc switched battery+cable.there is already made adaptors.try to a local accesory shop.tell the brand and model of your stereo and the model year and brand of your car and they must have the right stuff for you!

Hook 1 speaker to the white (+) and white/black (-) wires and the 2nd speaker to the gray (+) and gray/black(-) wires.

The green and the purple wires are the other speaker wires dont use them cut them so they are connected to anything and tape them with black electric tape so they wont short out and touch the chassis of the car by accident. Also dont let them touch each other too thats why you have to tape the exposed wires and insulate them. Many people forget to do that.

sounds like you have melted the ill. wire into the 12 volt constant somewhere in the wiring harness. You have a few options you can fix it by tracing down power wire behind the dash seperate the 2 wires and tape them back, but that involves taking out the dash to trace them. You could replace the whole harness which again requires taking apart the whole dash and is expensive, or you could run the power wire down to the constent on your cigerette lighter. Find a wiring diagram or test the wires to see which is which. NOTE: always unhook the battery when you are installing a new stereo because the constants are just that a contant 12 volt feed. but to test the cigerette lighter wires you will need to leave the key off and battery on gound your meter to something and which ever wire gives you voltage is the one you want.

Buy a new one.

turn off the source, hold the time button for 2 seconds (lower right hand corner), use left and right arrow keys to switch between hours and minutes, use the up and down arrow keys to set the correct hour and minute. hope this will help

If the face plat does not light up then yes when you replace it it should light up. If the new one does not light up then you have a bad connection on the prongs that make contact between the face plate and the unit.

Most radios have a yellow memory wire,(sometimes it is red) This wire needs to be connected to a constant power source, i.e. battery, cigarette lighter. It needs to be connected to something that when the vehicle is turned off, it still has power.

Adjusting initial settings
1 Press SRC/OFF and hold until the unit
turns off.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL and hold until
CLOCK SET appears in the display.

get a variable power supply(ac to dc) that will get you 11-14 volts . You wont need a lot of amperes to run the deck.I had a buddy that just used a little car battery charger in his shop when he was jammin in there-kinda ghetto but hey it worked fine

With the accessory power on, turn the system off. Push and hold the audio button. The hour digits will start flashing. Use the up and down keys to select the correct hour. Use the left and right keys to toggle between the hour and minute selection.
