Mintek DVD-2580 DVD Player - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see you need the code for the Mintek DVDplayer. It actually should be read as "No Disc", as in it does not recognize the DVD you have inserted. There are DVD+R & DVD-R Your recorder may only recognize one type.

Check the Remotes4U website and purchase the correct remote for your machine. They are very likely to have it. If not, Search links will supply other suppliers.

I might have what you want. It is 88888 as set by the manufacturer. If you ever need the code for the remote control it should be 0717. I hope this helps.

Just buy one AT&T U verse remote control Mintek DVD is liste in its codes. You will get codes and proceedings with it in attached catelogue. Codes are:

2004, 2322, 2381, 2419

Just to make sure that you are not playing a pirated DVD's, because there are some DVD players that won't play for pirates ones. But if you are playing an Original DVD's but still have the issue.

I would suggest to by a lens cleaner you can buy it to the nearest market in your town, I can guarantee that your DVD lens might be a little dirty.

Don't worry everything will be just fine after you buy a DVD cleaner.

The default password for this unit is 8 8 8 8 8.

You should be able to input this number and reactivate the unit.

There are adaptors. I bought a Philips brand that allows any dvd player to be connected to any television. You connect the RCA cables to the Philips adaptor from the DVD player then you connect the Philips adaptor to the rf input of the television with a coaxial cable.

Your model may or may not be hackable. It all depends upon which version of the model it is and which particular set of components the manufacturer (Shinsonic) chose to fit at the time.

MOST Mintek 2580's are effectively unhackable, but click here to find out whether this applies to yours. Even if it is hackable, it's nowhere near as easy as on many other models and if you get it wrong your player will be permanently unusable.

You don't say what you have, but it looks like a DVD player from the picture. It should have a reset button in the back or bottom. Just like a modem router for your internet does. On them, if you lose your password and reset it, it goes back to the way it was from the factory.

I recomend that you clean the lens to see if that makes a difference.

Yes,will read all DVD-R,DVD+R,and DVD+RW.Raw format maybe just tries it out.

If you remove the top of the player you can manually eject the disk.

The spindle motor magnets have started to flake, causing the DVD's to slip. like on a slip mat. You need to take the cover off and remove the flaky magnetic particles on the magnets that clamp onto the DVD's. You can put a very light coat of rubber cement on the lower magnet and let it dry completely, this should give the lower magnet/spindle motor some traction on the disc and get it spooling up in the correct amount of time...
