JVC RX-7030V Receiver Questions & Answers
I was playing my RX-7030V
To determine your exact problem, the first step is to disconnect all speaker wires "at your receiver" Next: Turn the receiver back on. If your receiver still says "protect" or turns off, it needs to be serviced. If your receiver stays on; reconnect your speakers one at a time and power back up after each speaker. You may find that after reconnecting all speaker wires it works! Most commonly the small braids of wire from the + to the - have touched and have caused the problem. In some instances, you noticed the problem only when turning the volume up. either way, make sure the exposed wires to your receiver are no longer than 1/2" long and are completely under the screw down terminal or slide in. When you've found the wire or speaker with the problem, your receiver will go back into "protect" At this point, disconnect the wire from the speaker at the speaker that may be causing the problem then test again.* Note* Make sure speaker wires do Not touch each other as this Will cause a short! If you turn the receiver back on and it stays on, you now know the problem is in your speaker itself. To test your speaker, you will need a multimeter. Set it to ohms resistance and touch the speaker terminals, if there is a short internally the meter will read "1......" If it's an analog meter, it will peg to the right. There's your problem. Now, within any speaker there are quite a few possibilities as to what could be causing the problem. Most common is a blown coil and the speaker needs to be replaced. Some speakers have internal crossovers (usually floor standing speakers) and may have a shorted or burnt board (usually very visible brown burn marks on the board) and can possibly be repaired if your handy with a soldering iron. Now, if you disconnect the speaker wire at the speaker and it still says "protect" Check your wire for the obvious cut or nail thru the wire if possible. If your system has wiring that runs behind walls, you may need to use your meter again. Disconnect the wire at both ends, keep the ends separated, put your meter on ohms resistance and touch probes to the + and - wires at one side. If the meter pegs to the right or reads "1...." the wire is shorted and needs to be replaced or repaired at the short. Hope this helps

Looking into the optics is a bad idea, for one. Did you type this using your remaining good eye ;-)
Light is a carrier, it is NOT audio.
Have you assigned tha toptical "DVD" connection to DVD?

Just for laughs, try the optical cable in each input.
Make sure the optical cable has no small-radius bends as that reduces its light.
Is your PS3 sending audio out of its optical cable?

The Transistors just need the code 2S added to the front of them. Grandata did have the 2SD2390 at just £2.00 plus P&P. They don't seem to have the 2SB1650, in my catalogue, but they could now (2005 catalogue).
If you get an Ohm meter (one to do this job would not be expensive) and connect it accros the transistors you will soon know if a short has occured. As it will act like you have just touch the probes together. You should replace both transistors in each channel that has failed even if only one has gone, to be on the safe side. The only thing else likely to go is bias resistors. A check with the meter will tell you if any has gone, again look for shorts where you wouldn't expect any to be.

the transtistors are mounted to a large heat sink. and yes all 4 main trany's need replaced. you can go to the library and look in sams photofact for the service manual. the part #ers are on the transistors. have fun and good luck again.
THE VOLUME KNOB TURNS UP IT INDICATES THAT IT
Hello :
There is a software problem with your
receiver . Software problem can be solved with two possible solutions
1: restore factory settings of your device [ resetting or reset ]
2: Update the software of your device . new updates can be found on
the manufacturer website .
good luck .
rate if useful please !
The receiver will sometimes turn itself off
Hi,
First thing to check always is the speaker cables. How long have you owned the unit? If any of them touch at all this can cause this exact problem. if not it may be something more serious. Usually when the unit shuts off it is the protection circuit that shuts it off to prevent damage. This could be a sign that the receiver may be in need of repair. Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thanks,
Lee
Dolby digital signal
yes go in main menu of tv audio output and use dobly digital out ok not pcm anlog ok
Won't power up.
It may be doing a "self check". Make sure no one crossed any output / speaker wires while moving speakers to clean, etc.
No sound or test tone from back surround speakers
don't want to be an idiot, but what about mute?
Maybe it's just me, but I was going crazy over a problem that turned out to be a balance knob turned sideways.
Also do you have an A B speaker switch? could be that they're both depressed, or the wrong one is pressed.
Was is it working when it happened? was there a pop?
Check the fuse. Replace with correct fuse.
Good luck
I have a JVC RX-501 reciver and 2 speakers Sony(200W). I start the reciver and After 3-4 seconds it S make a sound like" bun bun " that S all... After 1-2 minute again..
The sound you're hearing could be due to a variety of reasons, such as a loose connection, a malfunctioning component, or a power issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the speaker connections: Ensure that the speaker wires are properly connected to the receiver and the speakers. Make sure that the positive and negative terminals are correctly aligned. You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting the wires to ensure a secure connection.
Check the power source: Ensure that the receiver is plugged into a working power outlet and that the power cord is securely connected to the receiver. You can also try plugging the receiver into a different power outlet to see if that resolves the issue.
Check the volume level: Ensure that the volume level on the receiver is not set too high. High volume levels can cause distortion and other issues.
Reset the receiver: Try resetting the receiver to its default settings. To do this, turn off the receiver and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug the receiver back in and turn it on.
If these suggestion don't help, you may have to seek professional repair.

1997 JVC RC-X270 does not read CDs
A bit of basic knowledge is required first;
Insert CD, the first thing the processor expects is to scheive Focus.
When Focus is acheived, the Spindle Motor will turn.
Either the Laser cannot Focus or there is an issues with the Spindle Motor.
Which is it ... if you know, then you will know which part or board has the issue.
