Polaroid 8" Portable DVD Player, PDV-0813A Questions & Answers
I HAVE A POLAROID DVD
That broken part you refer to could be better known as the disc platter. It is part of the spindle motor in many models (it is either attached to the motor by a special compound or it is molded to the shaft).
I am not sure if this part is available or economical to replace in this model (alignment could also be a factor), a majority of service centres, once they see that the disc platter is damaged, assuming it is bonded to the motor, will declare this unit U/S.
Sadly, that is the death knell on this one. It would be cheaper and easier to buy a new player. But, as I have often posted, it is up to you. You can ask a workshop about this one, but they may say something similar to (or the same as) what is posted here.
A broken disc platter in any optical device is serious, and usually non-replaceable.
My Dell P380 only reads cds in the dvd player?
Hi,
You can try the steps below to fix this issue.
1. Edit the registry:-
1. Click Start, and click Run.
2. Type regedit in the Open box, and click OK.
3. In Registry Editor, click the plus (+) sign next to each folder name to expand the following registry path:
4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
5. Under Class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
6. In the right pane, right-click Upper Filters, and click Delete.
7. Click yes when prompted to delete the registry value.
8. In the right pane, right-click Lower Filters, and click Delete.
9. Click yes again.
10.Close the window and restart the computer
2. Install VLC player.
If you do not have VLC player on your system, you can download it online (free download) and install it on your system. Once you have installed VLC player, it will play almost all dvd formats.
Please do not forget to rate the solution.
Regards,
Musheer.

Polaroid TV working with constant red flashing light
If your Polaroid Roku TV is working fine but the red light is continuously flashing, it could indicate an issue that may need attention. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
- Power Cycle:
- Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 5 minutes.
- Plug the TV back in and turn it on.
- Check Remote Control:
- Ensure that there are no stuck buttons on the remote control. Press each button to make sure they are not stuck in the pressed position.
- Update Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your TV. You can usually find this information in the TV's settings menu.
- Reset to Factory Settings:
- Perform a factory reset on your TV. This will erase your settings, so be sure to back up any important information first.
- Check for Physical Obstructions:
- Make sure there are no physical obstructions around the TV, particularly around the infrared sensor on the TV and the remote control.
- Contact Customer Support:
- If the issue persists and your TV is still under warranty, consider contacting Polaroid customer support for assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or offer a solution.
- Professional Repair:
- If the TV is no longer under warranty and the issue persists, it might be advisable to consult a professional technician or a TV repair service to diagnose and fix the problem.
Always refer to your TV's user manual for specific instructions related to your model. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to seek assistance from the manufacturer or a qualified technician for further diagnosis and repair.

How do I switch my Polaroid P40LED13 TV on to AV mode. No option in sources
If you are using the standard SNES cables with the round red, white and yellow 'Jack' plug connectors they are referred to as "Component" connections. On your remote there should be a button marked "COMP". It will probably be near the top of the remote near the Power button. This should switch the TV to the channel you need.
