Tray slides in, but then

The broken CD may have ripped the laser lens off. If that has happened, you need a new CD player.

Yamaha CDC-80 drawer won't open

Hello

There are two possiblities for this fault. The first one is, loading belt broken, or loose. The second one is, loading motor fails to rotate. it may be due to voltage related problem, that is, no voltage comes to it from the circuit board, or it has failed to rotate due to some internal fault itself.
You just open and inspect for these troubles Ok.

Hi,

This seems to be a "Dust on Lens" problem. No issues... It happens when you keep your CD/DVD players unattended for a long period of time. Even if packed well enough, dust/moisture does tend to gather on the lens and cause this type of an irritating problem.

If you have a lens cleaning CD (if not, go buy one) then just insert it and let it spin regardless of whether or not it reads it. The spinning action will clean off any finely deposited dust particles on the lens. Repeat th process till the Lens Cleaner CD starts playing its audio. If this happens then all your other CDs should read. One more thing, make sure that the motor is indeed spinning. How can you know???

1. Buy listening carefully for a whirring sound the moment you put in your CD/DVD
2. By feeling for minor vibrations on the front panel (CD tray front cover)
3. Putting in a CD/DVD with a label straight as you can read it and see if it comes out differently on ejecting it. I hope you understand what I mean...

If this doesn't then it could be a blown lens circuit or a dead drive motor. In that case your player needs to be taken to a service center.

Hope it answers most of your query. Good luck.

Why does my Yamaha HTR-6130 power down after 3 seconds?

I expect there is either a power supply issue or one of the amplifiers has failed causing over current to turn it off as a protection to the power supply.

Yamaha M-60 Power Amplifier distortion and sound goes off sometimes

Being from 1985 or there abouts, it probably needs some TLC at a Yamaha service centre. May need new capacitors and resolder dry joints for age related issues.

Jerky sound in one channel Yamaha M-60 Power Amplifier

WD-40 ... Very dangerous as it not only flammable when wet but is bad for electrical contacts as it leaves a residue behind that does not conduct electricity very well. Check speaker connections first.
