My Kenmore gas range trip the GFI plug when I hit the bake button..
hello Joe,
the first thing I think of, is that there is a short-cut with the ground wire.
These short-cuts can be caused by several things. for example humidity, but also a burned insulation.
You have to check that.
ALWAYS BE CAREFULLY WITH ELECTRIC AND UNPLUG THE COOKER BEFORE OPENING IT.

Does the radiant heating element cycle on and off?
- The surface cooking area may glow red when a heating element is ON.
- Some parts of the surface cooking area may not glow red when a heating element is ON.
- The warming zone element (on certain models) will not glow red.

Hello, there are always a lot of problems with the timers.
Of course you can replace the timer, but they are often very costly.
But you can bypass it.
Google on "how to bypass the oven timer" and you will find suggestions.
