How do i increase the screen brightness HP elitebook 8530p

Sounds like your keybinding/hotkey combo is not doing its job. (or your bulb in the display is going out) You can open up Control Panel and adjust brightness from there. Step 1 Click "Start ' Control Panel ' Hardware and Sound ' Power Options" to open the Power Options window. Step 2 Click and drag the bottom "Screen Brightness" slider to the right to increase screen brightness and to the left to decrease it. Making this adjustment changes the brightness level only for the current power source; if you change power sources, the screen brightness may change again. Step 3 Click "Change Plan Settings" on whichever power plan is currently selected. Step 4 Click and drag the "Adjust Plan Brightness" slider to the right to increase brightness for each of the power sources, such as "On Battery" or "Plugged In." If you want high-precision numeric control, you need to access the advanced settings. Step 5 Click "Change Advanced Power Settings." Step 6 Click "+" next to "Display" and then "Display Brightness" to expand these options. Step 7 Click "On Battery" and enter a percentage in the field provided. Choosing "100" will set the screen to maximum brightness; any other brightness will be a percentage of the maximum brightness. To increase the brightness, make sure the number you enter is higher than the current value. Step 8 Click "Plugged In" and set its brightness percentage. Step 9 Click "Apply" and then "OK" to close the Advanced Settings window. Step 10 Click "Save Changes" to save any changes you made on the Edit Plan Settings page. If you only make changes in the Advanced Settings page, the Save Changes button will be grayed out. If that's the case, just click "Cancel." Hope this helps!

I have win 7 on hp elitebook 8530p and i got the 0xc000000e error and i changed my boot order and i still cant boot from my cd rom

If you take the hard drive out, can the laptop boot from its DVD drive? If the laptop can boot up from DVD drive, then you need to reformat the hard drive before you install the Windows 7 using your DVD drive.

Will not start

Hello, It sounds like the DC charging port on the laptop may be damaged, or it may be the power cord...here's how to tell: First thing....remove the laptop battery, click the battery back onto the laptop and try again. If this doesn't help then read on... When you put the laptop on the dock, it is getting it's power from the dock connector on the bottom of the laptop. When it is not on the dock, it gets power from your DC adapter. Soooo......take the laptop off the dock and plug the DC adapter into the laptop. Do you see ANY led's light up (on the laptop) when you plug the power cord directly into the laptop? If not, then your DC power adapter for the laptop is probably dead. If you DO see any led's light up when you plug the power cord directly into the laptop but the power button won't turn the laptop on, then the power button on the laptop is the problem. Take your laptop to an electronics store, and see if they have any universal power adapters for laptops (they come with tips to fit all major laptop brands). Test your laptop at the store with their new power adapter. If this fixes it, then buy the adapter. If this does not fix it, then you should take it to a reputable service shop to get the power button repaired or replaced......or call HP if your laptop is still in warranty. Hope this helps! Joe

Elitebook does not boot up

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it could be faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

The hibernate is one of the worst idea's that microsoft came up with, used long enough it will corrupt windows. If you can get it to come out of hibernate mode, go into power options and uncheck hibernate box and click apply. If you are unsuccessfull you will need to do a complete recovery of windows operational system.

How to reset lost bios

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your HP laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.

Winxp install issue on hp 8430p laptop. When I

The Bios isn't recognising the CD (or the CD drive) as having a boot device.
This means that your CD drive may be duff (can you borrow/buy an external CD drive?) or that the CD disk is broken or hooky.
That means that you either need to see if the machine has an onboard restore partition (look for the "Press F11 To Restore" at startup) or borrow a friends WinXP install disk. if you have an IT dept at work, they can possibly lend you one.
Make sure you enter the serial code that came with your XP disk.

EliteBook 8530p bios password

Generally, there are two ways to reset forgotten HP BIOS password. One is forcing BIOS/CMOS to reset itself to its stored defaults by removing all power to it. The other is to use a program to either locate or identify the password and reveal it to you or erasing the password entirely. And the most easiest and convenient method for erasing dynamic BIOS/CMOS settings is to remove battery directly from the motherboard. It applies to most motherboards besides HP Elitebook BIOS. At this moment, HP Elitebook based on UEFI Bios provides a tool to reset BIOS password specially - HP SpareKey. How to reset BIOS password with SpareKey? 1. Before forgot BIOS password, you have set answers to three predetermined personal identification questions. Write down the answers to these questions and put them in a safe place, away from the computer, so that you can always access them. 2. When you cannot remember the password to access the BIOS on your computer, turn on the computer and immediately press the ESC key to display the Startup Menu. And then press the F7 key. 3. HP SpareKey wizard pops up and prompts you for the answers to the three personal identification questions. If you successfully answer the questions, you are granted access and you can reset the password. If you do not answer the questions correctly in the three attempts, you will be locked out of your computer. And then you must contact HP for assistance. Note: HP SpareKey cannot help you recover a Windows 7 or Vista administrator account password. It is intended solely to recover system-level passwords. http://www.isunshare.com/windows-7-password/reset-hp-elitebook-password.html

I have a HP EliteBook 840 model number I need to restore to original settings I cannot get past the lock screen with password with password password

Why would you need to have a work around on a password for a laptop you supposedly own? Did you forget the password? You also don't need a password to do a system restore to factory stock. I don't provide password work arounds due to the fact some questions are for items the asker is potentially not the item owner..
